Hello there,

I'm quite interested in the role, is there any management involved?
Could you send me more information?

Best wishes,

+1
although I'm adding to the problem here I agree that the real
irritation here for me has been the replies and the moaning. Two job
adverts in a week isn't so bad... but there have been *far* more
moaning mails.

[python-uk] Python Django jobs at the University of Oxford

2012-01-04 Thread Tim Fernando
Hi folks,

Just a note to say we're hiring at least one Python/Django web
developer at Oxford University Computing Services.

The primary project you'll be working on is Mobile Oxford (the
University's award winning mobile services). There's a lot of
interesting and blue-sky work yet to be done on this project which
combines dozens of data sources from across our University to provide
services such as location-based library searches and real time bus
information, using mobiles to answer lecture questions in real time
and much more (we're currently working on a major UI refresh).

In addition to this, there will be a number of other projects using
Python including a user-facing VoIP phone management system, the
University's central audio/video repository system and workflow.

Deadline:
1200hrs 16h January 2012

Job description and link to online application:
http://www.oucs.ox.ac.uk/jobs/mobilewebdev.xml

Salary:
29099-35788GBP + pension of 4656-5726GBP / annum

Working environment:
Relaxed, fun, lots of room to explore ideas. Access to the facilities
of one of the world's greatest universities. Many other benefits
including travel loans etc.

Some of our favourite tools:
* Python
* Django
* Flask
* Github
* JIRA
* Continuous Integration (Buildbot/Jenkins)
* MASSIVE whiteboards
* Cake
* Macs (although some are sacrilegious and use Fedora/Ubuntu on their macs).

Drop me a line with any questions,

Tim
