Re: Redhat's Bind config tool
Based on that information in your email, it looks like the tool you are using left out the origin statement. This would have the affect of allowing you to use the www name and bind would have appended the domain automatically in response to a query. Re: Linksys KVM switch
I have had the same problem with an 8 port Belkin KVM, my main Linux system is running Redhat 8. This problem has resulted in the panel getting moved to the side which caused it to crash. (lots of fun fixing that the first time.) What's funny is the 4 port unit I have works reliably. I have not been able to determine if this is a problem with the Belkin unit or if it is an issue with the different systems attached, screen resolution being the one I thought might be an issue since that is the only thing I can think of as being different between the systems attached. During the initial startup everything works fine. But after switching to a different system and then back it has problems. The other item I am not sure about is the use of the wheeled mouse with the Belkin unit. I have been doing some searching for another KVM setup. I want the ability to switch between at least 7 systems and will need to have extension cables for the monitor, mouse, and keyboard. Has anyone utilized a KVM that works reliably? Re: retrieving isp email to internal server
Believe you want to get fetchmail setup. I have not done this yet but I believe fetchmail will let you collect email from one system and store it on your machine. The users would then connect to your system with POP3 (or something similar) to pull their email. Re: No sound in RH 8.0.
I have the same issue with my RH8 box. After investigating it I found that the particular sound chips on the mother board are not supported by RH. You may have the same issue. If so you should check out the ALSA project. That appears to have support for the chip set on my mother board but I have not taken time to install and test it. (I don't have any compelling reason to get sound working on that box.) On Wed, 2003-07-16 at 05:53, Panos Tsapralis (TELLAS) wrote: > Hello everybody, > > I am trying to get sound out of my RH8 box. Re: Configure RH 8.0 as server without console
Just did this on two of the systems I have. There was an option in the bios (hit delete key during boot up for my systems, yours may be some other key) for stop on error. They were set to stop on all errors. There was an option for that setting to ignore the keyboard. Set that and the system booted as expected without the keyboard or monitor. The particular text will vary from vendor to vendor. I had a couple of old old cidex boxes that I needed to set this on. Glad you found it on yours. Re: Kernel Freeze RH8.0
I had a similar problem. System would run for some number of hours and then hang. I believed this to be a heat problem with the motherboard. Replaced the heat sink and the case (4 fans). I also had been running the xmatrix screen saver which I disabled. So far things have continued to run. Not sure if the screen saver had anything to do with it. Plan to re-enable that in a few days. Not sure this will provide what you want but the command truss should list all system calls and such that a program makes. vrml plugin recommendation for mozilla?
After spending multiple hours searching for a vrml plugin for mozilla all I have accomplished is upgrading mozilla and installing the openvrml package. Unfortunately it appears that this is only a set of libraries for vrml and does not include the hoped for plugin for a Redhat 8.0 system running mozilla.Documentation for this package was sparse. Trying to get this installed since nagios appears to utilize an x-vrml display for the 3D status maps. Did come across several plugins for windos boxes but the results were less than pleasing. Did a search through past messages I have collected from the list but did not see any mention of vrml. Does anyone have some pointers to a mozilla plugin for vrml? Any assistance would be appreciated. -- Psyche-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/psyche-list
