I got tired of adding -vo and -ao options everytime I played something so my config file is # Write your default config options here! # Use SDL video driver by default vo=sdl # Use the SDL audio driver ao=sdl:esd # Start full screen by default fs=1 Tony

Re: 2nd try: Wine problem: key error
The error looked to me like a problem with the way wine is set up by Red Hat since it's looking for a key under the branch for Windows itself (I think). Anyway, the particular program is the MS Installer. I get that same error when I try to install The driver for a dongle that I need to use. I finally fixed their RPM enough to get wine installed and I get the same error with the codeweavers snapshot. Re: sound player for windows media format
I can play http://playlist.broadcast.com/makestream.asp?id=374890 (the test file from Yahoo!) with no problems using mplayer. I also played the archived Mark Richt Show (http://playlist.yahoo.com/makeplaylist.dll?id=1095423&segment=89997). I'm using the mplayer from http://psyche.freshrpms.net/rpm.html?id=302. I also had to get the win32codec archive from ftp://ftp.lug.udel.edu/MPlayer/releases/ and put it in /usr/local/lib/ Tony On Mon, 2002-11-04 at 07:52, w wrote: > I've been trying to listen to sports.yahoo.com radio broadcasts, which are > either in video/x-ms-asf format, or windows media format > (application/x-mplayer2). Re: sound player for windows media format
I actually prefer to use the command line to start streamed media because I find that network hiccups wreak havoc with media players. However, with galeon you can choose to use an application from the download dialog. In any case this should just be a MIME issue. I've had no response to my first e-mail and the Bugzilla report http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=77744 Can anyone help? The reason for this is that all I have to do to cause the oops is modprobe intermezzo mount -t intermezzo /dev/sda4 /intermezzo/seward At this stage I'm only using components that are stock Red Hat. The user space tools have not yet come into play, though I've recompiled them with RH 8.0. The result of the strace was that mount is looking for /sbin/mount.intermezzo, but it doesn't exist. A caveat here: I was calling what happened an oops because that is what the our network administrator said it was once he caught his breath after sprinting to my office to ask what I was doing. Since the system is still up I'm not sure this is really an oops, but I'm more of a user than an admin. This is seeming more like an intermezzo problem than a Red Hat one so I'll go to their list. Re: Macromedia Flash plugin 6 released for x86 Linux
I am getting crashes when I view either http://www.elpais.es/ or http://www.lemonde.fr/ with the pluggin from Warren installed. Could someone verify this please? I see the crashes with both mozilla-1.0.1-26 and galeon-1.2.6-0.8.0. These were working OK with the old plugins that I had (4 and 5). I should only have 6 installed right now. Help->About Pluggins only shows flash player 6. Anyone using Intermezzo? I get oopses.
