libxinerama

2002-10-28 Thread Anand
Hi,
I installed RH 8.0 and I am not able to locate libxinerama ! The header file exists
though. I am not able to use mplayer because of this. Did any one else have the same
problem or is it just me.

Sounds to me like you're using an mplayer binary that was
precompiled by someone else on a system containing a highly
customized XFree86 installation that doesn't follow upstream
requirements. Recompile mplayer from source or src.rpm yourself
and it should work.

kernel module headers

2002-11-20 Thread Anand
Hi,
I had to recompile my kernel to enable NTFS support and now I am trying to install the
conexant modem driver from http://www.mbsi.ca/cnxtlindrv/ for my modem.

The modem driver source won't compile saying that some header files like version.h and
autoconf.h are not found at /lib/modules/2.4.18-mybuild/build/include. These files are
at /usr/src/linux-2.4/include/linux. I would like to know if I missed something during
kernel install or did the kernel compile scripts miss something. My new kernel is
working fine though.
