how to transfer data from Excel to PSPP

2013-06-25 Thread Jeremy T. Canipe
I suspect my question is fairly basic, as I am entirely new to PSPP and other
statistical analysis programs, but would kindly appreciate any assistance.

I am trying to find our how to transfer data from EXCEL (from Microsoft 2007
office package) to PSPP (I think the version is No. 3but the program also
references psppire.exe 0.7.10-g330012)

I am trying to learn how to use the program in order to analyze data for a
proposed book project on the history of free African-Americans in Wilmington,
North Carolina before the American Civil War. I've done a lot of "counting"
from census records, court records, land and tax records, etc. but want to be
able to fully analyze the data.

Thanks,

Jeremy Canipe

Running Production Jobs in PSPP

2013-06-25 Thread Matthew Silver
Hi Ben,

On the PSPP thread I started, you noted that you may be able to add some
code to accommodate for .spj files. Do you think you would be able to make
this work? If it's not too hard, it would be incredibly useful for a lot of
people and I'd be very grateful!

I'd like to do so eventually. To do a good job, one requirement would be a
few examples of .spj files, because examples seem to be hard to find in web
searches. Are you willing to share a few .spj files with us?
