Not sure what the problem was. I use portmaster to manage my installed ports. Every month or two I update the OS with the buildworld dance, and then update any ports flagged by "pkg version -vl '<'". With out fail, one (or more) problem crops up, and I report it. I then find a fix for the problem and move on. To the next broken port issue. Hello. So no matter how hard I tried I could not reproduce it, but that was a problem that had already been fixed 😹 The portmaster must have been updated from 3.21 to 3.22 during the update that caused the problem. FreeBSD Bugzilla – Bug 265084 was a report of it. Regards.

Havng portmaster die with an error about a ficticious error about FLAVORS being set or unset is silly. I don't wait around for port maintainers to figure out the issue. I fix or workaround the problem and move on. It's the way the port collection works. -- Steve
