AFAIR, normal text mode doesn't support unicode rendering. Maybe you need to
use VESA graphics mode (?) to see the unicode character set. IMO, its not a bug.

emails contain 'Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8"' which helps email
readers to properly detect and display the content properly. I see 'From:
=?UTF-8?B?4KSuLuCkueCkvi7gpLjgpL4u4KSXLuCksA==?= ' if I
look at source of the email.

Useful search string:

A filehandle becomes stale whenever the file or directory referenced by the
handle is removed by another host, while your client still holds an active
reference to the object. A typical example occurs when the current directory of
a process, running on your client, is removed on the server (either by a
process running on the server or on another client).

Is there any other machine which trying to access/modify the file which you are
trying to copy?

NFS is stateless protocol. No need to change any thing at client end.
Since ext4 works and ntfs gives some issue, I suspect this issue is related to
mounting the fs on the server.
Sharing following information could be useful to find out the problem.

- output of mount command (which will tell more about the mount options used)
- ntfs driver used for mounting the ntfs

Some suggestions
- replacing 'espeak' with 'say', and it will work on mac osx also.
- putting the URL of the license used for the script itself is good idea. you
can also put your name, email etc.
- in prerequisites, 'bash' is mentioned. but the script uses 'sh'.

Waiting indefinitely makes sense. If there is any spam by the user, getting the
15th vote may not be time consuming. IMO.
Members are free do discuss/decide the number. RFC is meant for the same.

Within few weeks this should be settled. If there is spam, getting 15
(Number can be decided here itself) votes will be easy. This will
increase involvement of everyone. At least more people will come forward
to fight against spam and to keep the list clean.

So you are suggesting that there should be no change to the list? Users trust

Earlier, almost everyone seemed to be against moderation. Why the moderators
should be given the task to keep track of members mail count. Can you (anyone)
volunteer do it on the list itself?
Over few weeks, spammers will be banned, considering required votes are there,
filters will be updated.

Number can be finalized over here. RFC is meant for discussions. In the
new system, it seems mods will not be decision makers. They are just
executors. In the current system, they also decide things for the list
as well execute decisions. In a free mailing list, they will just follow
the instructions from the list. Let the members decide their own freedom.

Battery dimensions (http://www.whitedogbatteries.com/batspecs.htm)
For 3 A/hr
11.4 cm x 7.1 cm x 8.6 cm

You may also think of using the battery from your UPS directly (without
converting it to AC).
It could be more efficient.

You can use the router which you prefer; using battery+dc voltage
regulator as per the
specifications of router.

Re: [PLUG] Online storage options?

+++ Mayuresh [17-Nov-2013 20:51 +0530]
| Looking for online storage options with following perspective:
|
| - Main purpose - backup.
|
| - For use with Linux / NetBSD, preferably NFS mountable, less preferably
| sshfs mountable or at least rsync-able.
|
| - Sharing contents with others over internet is NOT my requirement
|
| - Connectivity with mobile devices (or platforms like Android) is NOT a
| requirement.
|
| - Plain simple storage service. No bells and whistles like webui, drag and
| drop and all that is necessary.

I suppose most of the services have API or FUSE or WebDAV export.

| (For above 3 points, if they just come with a service, I won't reject the
| service for that. Just that I don't need them.)
|
| - Reliable uptime. Will be synced at least daily.

Following backup services may be useful.

- - https://www.dropbox.com/ (API: https://www.dropbox.com/developers)
- - https://app.box.com/ (supports WebDAV, API: http://developers.box.com/)
- - http://copy.com/ (API: https://www.copy.com/developer)
- - http://spideroak.com/ (API: https://spideroak.com/code)
- - https://cloud.google.com/products/cloud-storage (API:
  https://developers.google.com/storage/index)

| - (Storage level) encryption necessary: May have sensitive contents.

spideroak - https://spideroak.com/privacypost/
For other services you may have to do the encryption at your end.

| - Free/paid, both ok. I'll assess price suitability separately.
|
| - I haven't arrived at exact space requirements. Roughly it might begin
| with say 10 GB and may grow in future.
|
| - Preferably some time trusted service or a brand that can be trusted for
| A. data security and B. will last long.
|
| Hope this is not too much to ask for and such services are available.

If you want to write your own backup service:

- - https://aws.amazon.com/glacier/

Also, can you share the purpose of asking this information? (More people may

You can post grub's menu.lst on http://pastebin.com/ and put the link in the
email.

You can consider wiki similar to garden. You need gardener to maintain
it properly. To remove orphan pages, add proper cross-references etc. In
absence of gardener, the wiki may grow wild and may not be much useful
(maybe it can be nuisance to fix it).

AFAIU, there would there would be any change for 'device specific
passwords'. Also, if you are using 2FA, sign in using google account
credentials is already disabled.

Try running

netstat -tunlp | grep 5353

Last column is PID/Program. It might help in getting the details.

Another option, stop dnsmasq and check with netstat again.
(You might want to have a look at lsof command)

How did you run the VAPT test? From a remote machine, another machine on
the intranet or from the internet?
