[DebianGIS-dev] packaging of splitter?

Hi,

I am writing to the list because it is given as the maintainer of the  
mkgmap package.


Have you considered packaging the splitter program? i am asking  
because mkgmap is virtually worthless without it.


Because mkgmap has been updated to version svn1067 in unstable, many  
more tagged items from the OSM files will get turned into .img  
objects. If users rely on the preprocessed .osm extracts available on  
various web sites, (for example geofabrik.de) it is necessary to use  
the splitter to cut down these into more managable pieces.
