RE: [PHP-WIN] Help needed: Why does my web page hang?
It would be helpfull if you provided the reading audience with some code. -Original Message- From: Paul To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 2003-12-30 02:48 Subject: [PHP-WIN] Help needed: Why does my web page hang? I am a php newbie developing a shopping cart for a web site. If I start at http://www.arylis.com/test/page1.htm and click a few buttons, the response is prompt at first, but eventually the web page seems to just hang, and takes half a minute or so to respond. Sometimes I get a timeout error message. The computer is still useable for other tasks. Just the web page hangs. This happens on my Win ME localhost (my own computer), and also on my ISP's remote Windows server. Is this a streaming or buffering issue? Is it a php bug? Any ideas how to fix this? I hate to keep customers waiting! [PHP-WIN] Re: Help needed: Why does my web page hang?
Answering my own question: Twice yesterday, I got on the test site and clicked fairly rapidly about one hundred times, and the page didn't hang at all. Maybe it's just a matter of how busy the server is. By contrast, my own Win ME localhost, hangs consistently, without fail, within 5 - 20 clicks. Just an inherent flaw in Windows ME running PWS, maybe? Anyway, comments are welcome. Thanks. [PHP-WIN] How do I compile the GD2 extension under Windows
Hello, fellow Windows/PHP power users, I'm running PHP4 (either 4.3.4 or latest STABLE CVS) on Apache2 and Windows XP. I have been encountering enormous difficulty in figuring out how to obtain/compile the required freetype2.lib for the compilation of the php_gd2.dll file. Just for your information, all that the extension requires for compilation is the freetype, libpng, and jpeg libraries/header files. I am trying to start working on a possible bug (http://bugs.php.net/26635), but only after I compile updated source code can I begin tracing the problem.
