BiTorrent Questions.

2006-04-29 Thread Anita

Hi List,
Is it legal to use BiTorrent? does it work with Window-Eyes and JFW? Is
that Program preferred to LimeWire? Do they work equally well? I have it
installed, but don't understand the next step. Please help!

Hello, there's UTorrent, which isn't even an installing program. You just
hit enter on the file name and it goes. It's very accessible. Using
torrents
is not illegal, but the content you download can be both legal and
illegal.

You can get UTorrent from
www.UTorrent.com
and you can download lossless live music from
www.DimeADozen.org
and
www.BootCity.org
It may be hard to get an account on those though, because they only take a
certain amount of users at a time. I even had to borrow an account to get
what I need. The concept of torrents is that when you're downloading,
you're

also uploading, as others are getting parts of the torrent from you, and
other parts from other people who have that torrent.
Thanks a lot.

Winamp Questions.

2006-05-29 Thread Anita

Hi List,
I'm having a problem with Winamp 5.21 not playing all tracks on a CD.
Maximizing the window didn't seem to fix the problem. How can I have the
titles of songs be displayed? I also have instructions for setting global
keys from within the Program. When I tried to set up Winamp for this task,
it didn't work correctly. Is there a particular skin that needs to be
selected? I'm using Window-Eyes 5.

   Thanks.

What event in XP uses ding.wav? think this is the event that's not changing

Its funny, the sound that I'm trying to get rid of isn't actually there I'm
trying to assign Ding.wav to Windows critical stop. This may be the wrong
event. You know how when you're in an edit box, and when narrowing ding.wav
is played, to indicate its empty? This is the sound I'm trying to fix. Hope
this makes sense.

When you say "list of sounds" what list are you refering to?

I apologize if you already know this, but you can see the different events
you can associate with different sounds in Start Menu -> Control Panel ->
Sounds and Audio Devices. In the Sounds tab, there's a tree view with all
of the different events. Note that this includes Windows events as well as
events from other applications. You can use the Play button as you move
through this list, and maybe you can identify which event is using
bing.wav as well as the other sound you're looking for. You can also use
the Browse button to find and use sounds (*.wav) in places other than the
default.

In addition to my original message, I'm hearing a beep from my laptop,
but its not a sound from my available choices when browsing. Best way i
can describe it, is that it sounds like a sort of game: its not appearing
in my list of sounds.

No, its nothing builtin to any application. I can be in an empty password

What application are you in when you hear that sound? I wonder if maybe
it isn't a Windows event but rather something built into the
application itself.

Hi you can get that game from Jim Kitchen's site at I believe the address
is
www.kitcheninc.net or is it dot com. I can't exactly remember witch one
it

is off hand. But there you will find a lot of games his games are self
voicing and he has some free windows talking games as well. So feel free
to

give that site a look. I use the monopoly game with window eyes and the
games talks itself so it works with window eyes with no problems. As for
jaws I am not totally sure. So I hope that helps and I hope that you find
what you are looking for.

Hi List,
Sorry if this message is off-topic, but i need some questions answered, and
not sure where else to ask.How does one move MP3S or other music out of file
sharing Programs and into another location? Is this even possible?
I'm not sure why, but spyware seemed to be in my computer earlier. Just ran
Adaware, so hopefully all those items have been removed once and for all.
Doesn't one have to keep running spyware Programs several times in succession,
until all objects have been removed?
