about victor stream

2013-08-30 Thread brian parker
Hi, recently i have been playing books on a flash drive connected to
my victor stream with the short lead. i noticed that i wasn't getting
the usual playing time. i assumed that the battery was failing, so i
bought a new battery. i found the same result with the new battery. i
sent a message to humanware about this, asking whether the flash
drive would take up more current. below is their answer. incidently,
i have gone back to playing from the sd card, and am now getting the
amout of playing time i was used to. brian.

Brian

It does depend on the drive itself but generally most flash drives will
cause the stream to use more power when accessing them.

That's interesting. Tooad they didn't say. I didn't realize a thumb drive
would suck more power. It's solid state memory just like an SD card is I
should think.

well remember the usb drive is taking a bit of power just to run. I
don't know how much and it will be slower as well and this will take a
bit nor from the battery.

I've never had a Victor Stream, but I do have an NLS player and the same
holds true: if I put the thumb drive in (and the player is fully charged)
it'll give me a reading of 10 hours, whereas if I have the cartridge in, it
then gives me 29 hours! So yes..it would appear that flash drives _do_
drain more power!

Listening To WMBI Using Winamp

2013-08-30 Thread Paul Hutson
Hi all.

About a year and a half ago someone sent me the direct URL for this radio
station and I was able to listen to it using Winamp. However, as of this
morning that URL doesn't work any more and I can't listen in Winamp. I can
listen using the regular internet so I know the station is not down. If
anybody has any info about the new URL I would really appreciate any thing
in that way you can give me and thanks in advance...Paul

Paul, I don't have the URL handy, but one thing I can mention is that if
you choose to listen on your iPhone, the URL can be easily located using
tune in radio. In fact, they have both the A.M. stream which is Spanish
programming, and of course the F.M. stream as well.

Find attached if it gets through a text file with the different URL
streams that I was able to find on the Moody Radio website. You will
have to copy the URL and create your own playlist file with the .pls
