good headset mic

I once had a headset mic that had good sound and gain that I got for about 15 
dollars. Unfortunately, it broke. I think it was a Labtech. I'm looking for a 
mic that has both good frequency response and good gain. It seems most I've 
tried don't. Can anyone recommend one please? Thanks. Joe.

You'll pay for this, but the Beyerdynamic MMX2 is the best I have ever used 
in this department. For Microphone quality, it is closely followed by the 
Cad U2, but I didn't like the headphones nearly as much.

personally, I really like the AKG HSC 271.
ok, it does have a high price tag, but especially if you want it for pro use 
also, it is well worth it.
