looking for a music database programme to replace audigen explorer

2012-03-11 Thread André van Deventer
Hi all

I have been a proud user of Audigen Explorer from Red Chair software until I
moved to windows 7 earlier this week.

Audigen Explorer is a small music database programme which opens up a
windows explorer like interface with tree views and list views where you can
see your music arranged into albums, artists, playlists, etc. And it has a
very handy search function which allows you to search for certain tracks,
artists, etc.

However since windows 7 I cannot seem to open any tree view at all.

So it seems as if I must start looking for another programme to replace
audigen now. Does anyone know of something similar which will work for me?

The company that sold the software, red chair software, does not seem to
exist anymore.

You're welcome. I actually wander what stores will carrie it since this is
their first true studio recorder as it were. B&H has it, That's a store in
New York that sells a lot of photo and video stuff. I talked to Sweet Water

Type the station in question in the "search edit" box (it'll come up when
Tapin Radio comes up) then shift-tab and if the station is in there, you'll
see it! Press "enter" to begin the station playing; then if you want to
save it in "favorites", then press F5"; this brings up your "add to
favorites" box; press "enter" and your new station will be added to your
favorites list. HTH.

It may be that Tapin Radio doesn't have the particular station you're

2012-03-11 Thread Tom Kaufman
I don't know if Live 365 is in the Tapin Radio Data base or not, but
yes..you can record and have Tapin split the recordings so it records
separate files! In other words, let's say you're recording a show and
essentially all you want is the music (not one solid file with the music)
Tapin will do this.

Problem With An Audio File

2012-03-11 Thread Tom Kaufman
Hello list: This might get a little "long-winded" so if this is too long, my
apologies! But I hope to explain here what I'm endeavoring to do: I have
thisaudio file that seems to be a "Real Audio File. However, VLC insists that
it wants to play it (and it doesn't play it correctly) so using the program
"Switch", I decided to try to convert it to an MP3 file...no soap! Upon trying
to convert, I'm given an error message, informing me something like The real
audio file cannot be converted because I need to install Real Player (which I
already have) to my computer! I have no idea as to what I'm doing wrong here!
For one thing, why is VLC Media player playing this file (and for that matter,
why does it not play this (or anything) correctly? I have re-installed VLC
Media Player, to no avail! Hopefully someone on here can help me figure out
what is going on!
Many thanks ahead of time,
Tom Kaufman

If the station is not in their database, and you can find its URL from
another source, you can go to the File Menu and choose Open URL. Paste the
URL into the edit field, press Enter, and the station will play. Then you
can add it to your Favorites. You can also go to the Help Menu and submit
it for inclusion in their database.

OK folks

For those of you who know more than me about this.

I have the url for bbc 5 live sport as
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/bbc_radio_five_live

I got this by using alt-d while listening to the station and then pasting
it into tapin radio.

But no sound.

Could there be something wrong with the link?

Re: Users of iTunes for Windows

2012-03-11 Thread vrvaughan

When you say, "Air play", are you asking about the radio?
Try either down arrowing past Podcasts and Ringtones to get to Radio and
there press Enter.
Now, arrow down the list of station catagories and when you hear one that
you would like to check out, press the Right Arrow , to open it and then
down arrow to see what is there.

When you find a station you want, just press Enter, to start it playing.
You can always pause it, if you don't like it and continue going down the
list to try others.

Hope that helps! Vicky

No, I'm not asking about the Radio, I'm asking about "Airplay", the facility
which allows iTunes to stream to remote speakers such as a JBL Onbeat
Air/Stream, Apple Airport Express, Apple TV, Airfoil Speakers running on
another computer or device etc.
