Re: USB Sound Cards
I still think that one of the best USB sound devices I've ever used is the Imic, plug it in and it works at very reasonable quality. The device has been updated quite recently and I did read somewhere that it now has digital i/o facilities as well as analogue, can anyone confirm this? I've had my Imic's for 4 years now and they haven't missed a beat, a real bargain at under $50.00 each. I think Amazon sells them in the U.S. On 24/07/2010, at 9:34 PM, Paul (Pawel) Loba wrote: > Good day. > I'm looking for some recommendations from you regarding the USB Sound Cards. > > Do you have any experience with/opinions about Turtle Beach Amigo II and > Micro II USB Sound Cards. > Your replies will be appreciated. > Best, > Pawel. > > > To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: > pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org Dane Trethowan grtd...@internode.on.net Mobile:/SMS +614571201 Twitter: Http://www.twitter.com/grtdane MSN: grtd...@dane-trethowan.net skype: grtdane12 To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org

Re: winamp
Hi Jo, Good choice . Go to www.winamp.com/player. I would go for Winamp Lite unless you want extra capabilities like ripping and burning, autotagging of songs, a media library, etc. Once installed there is a small wizard that allows you to set up Winamp to be the default player for your media and other settings. The program is free by the way, however Winamp Pro is commercial. Pro just allows you to burn CDs at higher speeds than the free Winamp. Pro also allows you to rip in MP3 format, things that other free programs can do. Hope this helps. Re: RECORDING FROM YOU TUBE DOT COM
I use total Recorder to do things like this and I have 2 sound cards, speech comes out of 1 and my audio comes out of the other. There are various ways you can set Total Recorder for this, you can set it to record a software stream which is probably the best way for this type of situation or you can - if your sound card supports it - set Total Recorder to record "What you hear", I've found Total Recorder to be the most reliable way of recording anything from the computer, don't know how it performs with Windows 7 as I only use Windows XP on the PC. WMP and GOM Player are the only two I have tried. the title pages play so I hear the music and there must be a way to get to the movie but I haven't figured out how to do so. I have Cyberlink DVD Deluxe that came with my PC but I can't do anything with it. The only thing I can read with JAWS when I open it is the title. There are no menus when the application key is hit. I wonder if it is written with WPF programming? I have another program which is the same way. JAWS tech support is supposed to be looking into this for me. Re: RECORDING FROM YOU TUBE DOT COM
Hello David, No, I don't have an external USB sound card. But my computer does have two sound cards in it. It has the SOUND MAX sound card which is integrated in to the motherboard. And it also has a Sound Blaster Odicy 4 series sound card that I installed myself. Everything is going through it. I'd use the SOUND MAX motherboard sound card for JFW, but I don't have an extra speaker that I could plug in to it. I don't think he is talking about a DVS movie someone has ripped to mp3 or ogg but an actual DVD that has the description track on it. I don't think Winamp will play this. Years ago I had Real Player and it was supposed to play these but I never had a DVD with the description track to try it on. Re: Reading current volume status in goldwave
Good evening, Mario and List. The GoldWave autogain function works very well in maximizing and leveling gain throughout the audio recording. To effectuate autogain do the following 1. Type ctrl+a to ensure the entire audio file is selected. 2. Type alt+c to launch the effects menu. 3. Type "u" (without quotes) for the volume menu. 4. Your first choice should be autogain so type Enter to bring up a dialog box. 5. In the autogain dialog box you will find a list of 7 preset options which include adjust to 50 percent, default, ffast gain update, maximize voice with high noise, medium gain update, peak reducer, and slow gain update. Select a preset option with the up and down arrow keys and tab 3 times to preview and listen before making your permanent choice. 6. When satisfied with your autogain preset choice, tab once and hit space on the stop preview button and tab to OK and press the space bar. It may take a few minutes to reprocess the gain level depending on your PC's overall performance and the size of the audio file. Generally, I find the default option works well at least 90 percent of the time. Re: updating rockbox on my iriver h320
Yeh, I think it's pretty straightforward. I do it on my H20 and e280 all of the time. I'd suggest just following the instructions in the manual for your player using the steps for a manual install. Basically, you're just unzipping the Rockbox software and the voice menus to your player. -- Christopher chalt...@gmail.com From: david Sent: Saturday, July 24, 2010 8:07 PM To: pc audio Subject: updating rockbox on my iriver h320 he guies.
