Re: keys don't work in goldwav
Greetings, What access software do you use? If Jaws, ensure you have the latest Jim Grimsbey scripts if WindowEyes, I assume there is a setfile so ensure you have the latest. Otherwise, no idea about access. Is it **all** cursor movement keys are not working? Please explain further exactly what the problem is as the checking of scrollock ought to cure the problem, it did for me. Why not write to Chris, sure he will help as he helped me. >From Colin Howard who lives near Southampton in Southern England. There is actually a GoldWave script for Window-Eyes. It is very simple but is worth mentioning. Go to www.gwmicro.com/sc to get it. - Original Message - From: "Colin r. looking for a good stereo microphone to conduct podcast interviews
Hello. I may launch a podcast where I sometimes interview people using the Plextalk Pocket. I'd like recommendations for a good stereo microphone for capturing the interview. I think it needs to be powered. Thanks for any experiences. dean To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org
Re: looking for a good stereo microphone to conduct podcast interviews
Greetings, I am not sure if it is still made but I use a Sony ECM970 which is a small hand-held single-point stereo-mic with three-position switch - towards the hand is off, middle is narow- and nearest the head is wide-band stereo. It is powered by a single AA batterey, I have a metal hydride in mine and one charge has lasted well over a year. When the charge goes, it *8sudd**suddenly** goes, takes about half a minute or less, fades and then gone unlike most dry cells which in my experience of some forty years, give good power for a fair time then over a period of (say) two or three hours, fade giving worse and worse sound. Metal hydride batteries need a special charger, cannot charge with one used for the old-fashioned nycads, they do not have a memory as did nycad batteries and they can last about a thousand charging cycles but when they fail, they fail completely. I've been using them for the last half-dozen or so years and have used many many in all kinds of equipment; in the time, have had about three duds and five finished their lives. >From Colin Howard who lives near Southampton in Southern England. Re: looking for a good stereo microphone to conduct podcast interviews
Greetings, I forgot to say the mic is about five inches long and easily held in the hand, it comes with the usual 3.5mm plugged into the usual 6.4mm adaptor so can be used in either format. Cost in the UK about £70, sorry, don't know what it is in dollars. >From Colin Howard who lives near Southampton in Southern England. I wish I hadn't lost the cable to my Nady CM-2S so soon after getting it, but I own one and am impressed with its sound...Just be careful with handling noise. It is ery comparable, at a lower price, to the now discontinued Audio Technica AT822. - Original Message - From: "Dean Martineau" To: "'PC Audio Discussion List'" Sent: Tuesday, March 09, 2010 12:40 PM Subject: looking for a good stereo microphone to conduct podcast interviews Hello. how to access track info using Windows Media Player 11
I know there are different modes and menus one can set to hopefully make WMP as accessible as possible, but I need help doing so. I am used to Winamp giving me the track title and length, etc., but I can't find this info when playing tracks in Media Player. Using Jaws 10 or 8 with XP Home. Right now I need to use WMP, and I see lots of buttons and menus and possible modes or skins to use; but I'd like to know what settings would make it clear-cut and how I can find specific info about the currently playing tracks. Would appreciate any detailed help. Thanks. To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org

I kind of wish I had that information as well! Joanne..you didn't say which version of WMP you are using..but I'm running WMP 11..and I see no way to access that information! Not only that, but it doesn't seem like there's a way to move backward or forward in a track or file! So maybe there are others on here that can supply us with that info..if it's possible! RE: how to access track info using Windows Media Player 11
My suspicion is that these things are not at all easy to do in WMP, which is partly why there are so many alternative media players out there. I know that the two deficiencies mentioned in this thread are why I don't use it. Here's an old Tidbit which somebody might want to follow up on: David Bailes continues to write free VIP Accessibility Guides. His latest contribution is a guide to windows Media Player 11 for JAWS users, though its usefulness is not limited to users of JAWS. this 8,000-word guide can be had here http://vip.chowo.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/jaws/Windows-Media-Player-11-Guide .html And here's another one: Content on the Listen and Learn Recordings site continues to be updated. You can download or stream the recordings, and a podcast feed is available. Recent additions include a three-part guide on using Windows Media Player, guides to installing Linux, and a tutorial on using Talks. http://www.lalrecordings.com Hope this proves useful. Hello Jim: Try one of the Antec models. I've been using the TruePower 550 model for more than five years with no problems. And I leave my computers on 24 hours a day seven days a week, except when I am leaving town for an extended vacation. www.newegg.com does have good pricing on this power supply. Other online outlets may be cheaper still. Hope this helps, thanks and all the best. Hi people, In WMP 11, use control + tab to place focus in the seek slider. I'm using Jaws 9, and when I land on this slider Jaws says "to increase or decrease use arrow keys...right/up arrow to increase, left/down arrow to decrease." Hope this works for you all...
