Hello,
Appologies if this has already been covered in this thread. Open the
Windows Volume Control and press the alt keyto get to the options menu.
Arrow down past the properties dialog and you'll hit the advanced
controls
checkbox. Make sure this is checked. Depending on the card you'll
either

get tone controls or the ability to boost your mic gain by 10db. It
varies with the card and I have come across both. HTH.

Hello, sorry for the late reply, but if play list window is open, it
speaks the new track, but if it is not, then JAWS key+V (adjust JAWS
options), script lets you switch this and many more things, but this

High Robert,
The best way to make that happen is, uninstalling and reinstalling
Winamp.
That's how I always got it to work for me.
If there is a setting for this, I don't know where it is or what it is.
My best regards.

Is there a way to get jaws to announce the track when it switches
tracks? I've noticed that on some of my computers it does it
automatically but not on others.

Sound Card Scripting

2009-12-13 Thread RicksPlace
Hi All: I am an old programmer type. Since there is so much trouble with Sound
Cards I am wondering if anyone has tried scripting for a sound card. First, the
card software or the Operating System needs to make some scriptable information
available and it is usually called MSAA for Microsoft Active Accessiblity. This
is one of the scriptable data points that Windoweyes uses, I am not sure about
JAWS. So, my question is actually, do you script for the individual sound card
or do you script the Operating System when you want to set options?

RE: Sound Card Scripting

2009-12-13 Thread David Reynolds
Rick,

I would guess that in the case of cards with proprietary drivers, you'd need
to script the card software itself. In the case of Creative, this is
imperative, since a great deal of the functionality is only available via
creative software. The MSAA route is a bit of a non-starter here, and I
guess you'd probably benefit by using something like hot spot clicker,
because many of the buttons and sliders are graphic. Essentially, you'd need
to map various keys to hsc, that would be a good start. With hsc, you can
not only map keys, but also get jaws to announce what you want. Whether the
same thing is available under WE, I don't know. If it isn't, I'd guess you
need to set up a series of small virtual windows, and map keys to click on
them.
Hope this helps,

David.

iTunes Store Music Format

I would like to rip some CDs and convert some of my Windows Media Lossless

How do I know I am getting a new iPod Touch 64GB for Christmas? Because I

I'm not using the Standard version so I probably can't help you all that
much, the scheduler for the Professional version I'm using is - I
believe - considerably different from the Standard version, you can find
out more about that too through the promers and so on.

Not in all cases. In many cases it will show as unavailable and advance
will

not show as an choice among volume, wave, etc.

ok, also you have to remember that when it says unavaible then that means
that it is checked.

Hello,
Appologies if this has already been covered in this thread. Open the
Windows Volume Control and press the alt keyto get to the options menu.
Arrow down past the properties dialog and you'll hit the advanced
controls
checkbox. Make sure this is checked. Depending on the card you'll
either
get tone controls or the ability to boost your mic gain by 10db. It
varies with the card and I have come across both. HTH.

Frank

RE: Another sound card question

2009-12-13 Thread Dave McElroy WA6BEF
That's been my problem as well. Yes, I do have the advanced on the record
side, but gosh darn it I just want some tone control access. Seems like it
shouldn't be too much to ask but I guess it is.

Re: Another sound card question

2009-12-13 Thread Tom Kaufman
Well I've been sort of following this thread with interest as I think that
the Audigy 2 sound card I have is made by Creative labs (not completely sure
of this)..but I can change my tone control by going into the system tray,
then to "volume"..then to '"advanced"..apparently this is where you're
getting stuck? Interesting; it's as you're saying: seems like some
computers have the "advanced" settings; some don't!

Re: Another sound card question

2009-12-13 Thread Les Gordon
hello, most likely the reason why there might not be tone controlls on alot
of soundcards is because in whatever media player you use to play music they
give you eq's. i use itunes and its very accessible. and its completely
free. i am getting absolutely killer sound from using itunes. because there
eq gives you pre-sets and also you can create your own personal settings and
save them as defaults. very simple and easy to use.
