Olympus DS-71

2009-07-14 Thread Keith Gillard
Hello fellow audioists.

I just got the above voice recorder which appears will be able to interface
with Drag and natrually speaking for a minor software upgrade.

Now I am very techy but, I cannot find the feaking battery compartment on
this little beauty!

I have learned the hard way not to press, push or pull things if I don't
know what they do or what I could break!

If yall know where the battery compartment on the DS71 is, and how to open
it I would be most grateful.

Does Anyone Have This Sound Card?

2009-07-14 Thread Caroline
Hi everyone. I've got a Realtek High Definition Audio sound card in my Windows
Vista system. There are 6 or 8 jacks on the back of my computer, and two on the
front. The front ones are no big deal, but I'm wondering if anyone might have
this card and know the configuration of the jacks on the back. I'm attempting
to get the Stereo Mix setting working in Goldwave, and it won't work using my
front microphone jack so I'd like to just see what happens if I use the rear
jack. But, I don't know which one it is, and if I plug in something to one of
the jacks I'm very politely told that a device has been connected, but not what
device it is. SMILE!!! So, any assistance here would be helpful. I'm not sure I
can get this working, and I was extremely lucky with my last Vista machine and
audio, but I'm also not giving up until I've tried every possible option.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Caroline

Winamp and autotagging

2009-07-14 Thread Jason Boston
Hi all,
I've hit alt+3 on a few files lately and noticed an option to autotag an
audio file. So far it works great. It tells me I can select a group of
files and use the right click and send to option to have those files
auto tagged at once. I can't figure out how this is done. Do they mean
in windows explorer or in the play list editor, or what? I find no send
to option for winamp in the context (right click) section within windows
explorer and I can't find a setting I need to change in the preferences
settings that I need to change.

Any ideas folks?

TIA

Jason

Hi Caroline,

>From what I remember, these jacks have autosensing options.

Meaning when you connect something it will try determine what it is.

If you want I can send you the configuration I have set up and see if that's
any help?

Cheers,

Scott
