RE: BBC iPlayer accessibility
Hi. Of 3 weeks ago, no. The BBC's techno bod was interviewed on "In Touch" and asked about it and he said they were working on it but I think it might still be a work in progress. Hi, I'd like to listen to xfm through windows media player, but it's opening in a web page. Now, there is the london branch that will play in aac, but it's totally unbalanced, the right speaker is louder than the left. the one out of manchester sounds great, but it loads in a web page using windows media player. I tried modifying the url to no avail which is javascript:void(window.open('http://mediaweb.musicradio.com/player/default.asp?s=60&e=0','xfmman','width=607,height=558,top=10,left=10')) I took out the java code, but it wouldn't work. any ideas as to how I could find the actual url for this? I remember seeing a how to on this, but no longer have it. thanks, Rick (XFM) Jonathan Mosen List Founder Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org

Hello, Here are the Windows Media links for the stations you requested. Although they don't end with the usual .asx extension they worked fine from the run dialog in Internet Explorer 7 and Windows Media Player 11. I found these listings by going to: http://www.vtuner.com and searching for Xfm. Xfm London http://mediasrv-sov.musicradio.com/XFMLondon Xfm Manchester http://mediasrv-sov.musicradio.com/XFMManchester Xfm Scotland http://mediasrv-sov.musicradio.com/XFMScotland Happy listening! Thanks John. Can you or anyone suggest a fairly good quality USB sound card with line in and line/headphone out which works well with JAWS, is fairly small and preferably is powered from a single USB port. Re: Laptop making strange noises
Hello Andre, Did you try moving the power supply as far away from the stereo as you possibly can? I still think that the problem probably lies with a power supply that is not properly shielded. She uses a xitel device to play music from her laptop through a high quality stereo system. When she connects this device to her laptop while on battery power, everything is fine and the sound is clear. However, as soon as she connects the power chord of her laptop, a lot of noise is generated through her speakers. She had another laptop before which was stolen, and it worked fine. She has already tried to connect the laptop to a different power outlet and also tried to move the xitel further away from the laptop with a USB extension cable without any luck. Friend Needs Help With Sound Card
Please forgive the cross post, but we are trying to help a young lady with a sound card we don't know anything about, and are hoping to find someone on one of these two lists who might be able to assist. . It is the Soundmax HD Audio card, and came with her Dell desktop computer. She knows little about the machine, but would like to participate in audio chats. We are working by phone and she is in another city/State, so we're flying blind, no pun intended. We have followed all the usual procedures for a Windows sound card, but so far nothing is obvious. We believe the mic is muted, and can't figure out how to unmute it. There are two checkboxes whose checked or unchecked status we don't understand, and there appears to be a rear speaker recording capability as well. There appear to be jacks both on the front and rear, and she's not sure which is which. She says the mic was plugged in at Wal-Mart, but she has not attempted to do anything with it herself. Dave did have her check the mic and uncheck the rear speaker, but this did no good. She had sound coming out of her speakers, but Dave was able to help her silence it. This is all the information I can offer, so hope it will be enough to give this lady some help. It appears she received the computer system with little instruction. Thanks in advance.
