Preparing cd tracks for copying to MP3 player

2008-07-17 Thread Sid Pritchard
Hello members,

I am an absolute novice just starting out with our version of the MP3 player.

Can anyone please give me step by step instructions on transferring my CD
albums to the external device?

I presume the tracks need to be converted to MP3 but I can't fathom out how to
achieve this.

I am using Windows XP and have Winamp and Windows media player installed.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Sid

Re: Preparing cd tracks for copying to MP3 player

2008-07-17 Thread DJ DOCTOR P
Hello Sed,
If you use Windows Media Player, you can set it to rip your CD's to MP3.
But all depending on the MP3 player, you have to watch out for the size of
the files.
Because if they're to big, they won't play on some MP3 players.
So just to be on the safe side, you should shoot for 125 to 250 KB.
Also just so you would know, there are audio file converters out there that
you can use.
The one that I would suggest to you, is Switch.
I don't have the URL for the site to download it from at this time, but I
will find it and get back to you with it later.
My best regards.
  John.

Audiobooks (sorry if off topic)

2008-07-17 Thread Samuel Wilkins
Hello folks, I received your messages about the problem I am having with my
audiobooks. I use Tune Raft to convert the audiobooks to MP3. However, there
were side affects to the files. Also, how am I supposed to unDRM the files? I
sent this message before, but got no response.

Winamp list

2008-07-17 Thread Larry Higgins
Is the following address for the Winamp list correct?
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]

I haven't seen any traffic other than posts in months other than
those by Mike Gorman for the Mikes Mess Web site, and his programs,
but nothing regarding Winamp, not even anything about the new release
of the program.

Any help would be appreciated,

Larry

Re: Winamp list

2008-07-17 Thread Chris Skarstad
Hi Larry
The address you gave is correct, however I noticed there was a
lessthan sign at the beginning of the address, so maybe that's why
you haven't noticed anything? What I would do, just to make
absolutely sure you can fix this, is to go to

http://freelists.org/list/winamp4theblind
On that page, you'll see an edit box, followed by a dropdown list of
different choices. Enter the e-mail address you subscribed to the
list with, and then choose the unsubscribe choice and click go.

Then, wait a few minutes and then visit that same page again, accept
this time, choose the subscribe option and you should get an e-mail
asking y you to confirm your subscription. Simply reply to that
message, keeping the original message completely in tact and you
should be successfully subscribed to the list again. There is a lot
of mail on there, in fact right now the big issue is the whole idea
of getting the CBS and AOL Radio stations to play using Winamp. So
there is definitely traffic going on the list.

HTH

Chris
