High-End Sound Card, Two Speakers
I am in the process of assembling a new desktop system for myself. I'm not building my own computer, but I am adding things I want. One thing I'm looking at doing is adding an internal sound card to replace the integrated one that comes with the system. While I love doing audio editing, I'm an old-fashioned type who still uses just two speakers. So what I want to know is, is there a high-end sound card that will allow me to use two speakers instead of 100 or whatever the current surround sound specifications are? I don't care if the card has 5.1 or 7.1 capabilities, I might want to utilize that in future, but I'd like to be able to use my old-fashioned two-speaker stereo speakers if I can. A question regarding multitrack recording
Greetings all For the past 7-8 years I've been using Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 (yes, I realise that this program is now ancient), but the reason I stuck with Cakewalk so long, is because it works for me, and I know it well. However, I'm increasingly needing to import .mp3 files into my projects, but every time I want to use an mp3 file, I have to convert it back to wave format. My question then is this: Is there a program that would allow you to do multitrack recordings, but would also allow you to import files in other formats than wav, e.g. mp3, flac, ogg, etc? Also, would said program be reasonably accessible, and if not, are there Jaws scripts for the program available? Thanks for any help, it will be much appreciated. Re: High-End Sound Card, Two Speakers
Hello Bruce, That sound card, is a very exhalent sound card. But however, all of them can deliver 2 channel stereo sound as well as 5.1/7.1 surround sound. Take your pick, there many to choose from. But also keep in mind, some of the higher end sound cards aren't Jaws user friendly. My best regards. The answer to your problem is Sonar. There are two sets of Jaws scripts available. One is free, and the other one will cost you some money. The free set of scripts is called JSonar. Go to www.jsonar.org for more info. The set of scripts you'll have to pay for is called CakeTalking. Re: High-End Sound Card, Two Speakers
Bruce. You might want to continue using the internal sound card for Jaws and system sounds. It's nice to use two sound cards when editing audio or using your computer for music, when you have a screen reader. Hopefully, your computer will work with two sound cards, some have problems. Creative cards can have trouble if the MB has Realtec ac'97 at the same time. I had that trouble at first but got around it by disableing a bunch of unnecessary Creative software at startup.
