problems with humming sound from mixer
Hi all, I have my mixer connected through line-in on my computer, I think I've sselected line-in under vista. Whenever I connect a device through my mixer, I hear a strange high-pitched wine through the headphones that I cant get rid of. I've tried different cables and they're all new. The mixer works, it's just this high pitched sound I cant get rid of at all. Any ideas? Ok well I have an older SB Live here and it doesn't unless you can possibly get some sort of digital I/O daughter board. Re: problems with humming sound from mixer
Hello Scott, This winding noise could be coming from your hard drive. If you are using an integrated sound card which is the kind that is on your mother board, that is where the problem is. You may try using another sound card of higher quality, that may fix it for you. Good luck on that! I know it is, I use it on a regular basis, but I was just remarking on the fact that it is called TeamTalk, not TeamText or TeamChat, so its main goal is to be a talk application. -- From: "Dane Trethowan" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, February 18, 2008 5:03 PM To: "PC Audio Discussion List" Subject: Re: Teamtalk > Its both actually. > > On 19/02/2008, at 2:59 AM, James Scholes wrote: > >> set a sound to play, then simply tab over to the window and use the >> arrow >> keys. Hello: Actually, it is both a Voice and a Text chat App. It has facilities for sending both public and private messages as well as executing important commandline parameters through the typing window such as establishing channel operators. I'm not sure exactly what point you're trying to defend but your comment is mis-leading. - Original Message - From: "James Scholes" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC Audio Discussion List" Sent: Monday, February 18, 2008 11:59 AM Subject: Re: Teamtalk set a sound to play, then simply tab over to the window and use the arrow keys. USB Speakers?
High List Members, This is the first time I've ever seen a pare of these, I wonder how well they work? I saw for the very first time a pare of speakers that gets their power from a USB port on your computer. But however, you still have to plug them in to the 1-8th inch line out jack on your sound card. Again, I've never seen anything like this before. If any of you have a pare of these, can you please give me some insight to how good these speakers really are? Thanks. John. Re: USB Speakers?
If they plug in to the 1/8 jack then they aren't true USB speakers. True USB speakers get the audio through the USB connection as well as the power and don't plug into the 1/8 jack. Re: USB Speakers?
Yes exactly, I have a pair here which i use with Itunes on the Mac, you plug em in and Itunes can take total control of them, they're actually classed as a Sound Device on my Mac at any rate and I'd assume the same thing for windows so you can select that sound device as a default audio output for Windows for example. Hi all After your recommendations last week, I've decided to evaluate the aforementioned program. I can't however get the microphone to work, (I can hear myself talking, but people who listen to my audio over the Internet, can only hear the music I play, but when I talk inbetween songs, they hear nothing). Re: Question regarding Station Playlist Studio
Hello. you should check the box in the output mixer tab that says continues streaming. Also make sure that inth input tab both ar set to mic and then make sure the card is right for mic as well. You can record right from studio to test to see what happens. I do this all the time before my show. To hear me use spl studio tonight go to www.hkcradio.com at about 9:00 pm eastern time and click on one of the stream links. Take care. Re: USB Speakers?
High Dock, This will sound a little unusual, but if you can remember how you use to turn an old fashion radio on and off, up and down. These speakers has that kind of power switch/volume control knob. So I'm wondering, how does the USB interface work with something like that? Yes sometimes the quality out weighs the low power. And the higher powered ones can have a power pack to supply power instead of the USB port. I use my USB speakers with my Macbook Pro which is a notebook and theyr'e perfectly suited to that as I don't need a lot of power for the Notebook, the situation is bets explained if I said that the internal speakers of the Macbook, (whilst they're fine for speech) don't really cut it when it comes to music. Re: USB Speakers?
High once again Dock, I built for my computer, a pare of speakers that uses a pare of S5 Electronic tube amps. Even though they have their own power supply, I rigged up a power outlet with a power switch so that I can turn them off and on at the same time. But this way, each speaker has its own volume control. These sound a whole lot better then a lot of computer speakers I've heard. But these USB speakers, I just saw them but never heard them. They were hooked up to a E Machine computer that was running Vista. I wanted the lady to play some music on this system for me. But when she was about too, she got called away. Your guess is as good as mine about these USB speakers, and what they sound like. Re: USB Speakers?
I thing they are good in close quarters or to demonstrate something on your laptop when you are in an area where it would be a pain trying to find an outlet. - Original Message - From: "DJ DOCTOR P" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC Audio Discussion List" Sent: Monday, February 18, 2008 4:49 PM Subject: Re: USB Speakers? > High once again Dock, > I built for my computer, a pare of speakers that uses a pare of S5 > Electronic tube amps. > Even though they have their own power supply, I rigged up a power outlet > with a power switch so that I can turn them off and on at the same time. > Your guess is as good as mine about these USB speakers, and what they > sound > like. > John. > - Original Message - > From: "Doc" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: "PC Audio Discussion List" > Sent: Monday, February 18, 2008 5:34 PM > Subject: Re: USB Speakers? > > >> In this case the usb is only for power thus, the reason for the audio >> cable. >> - Original Message - >> From: "DJ DOCTOR P" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >> To: "PC Audio Discussion List" >> Sent: Monday, February 18, 2008 3:06 PM >> Subject: Re: USB Speakers? >> >> >>> High Dock, >>> This will sound a little unusual, but if you can remember how you use to >>> turn an old fashion radio on and off, up and down. >>> These speakers has that kind of power switch/volume control knob. >>> So I'm wondering, how does the USB interface work with something like >>> that? >>> John. >>> - Original Message - >>> From: "Doc" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >>> To: "PC Audio Discussion List" >>> Sent: Monday, February 18, 2008 4:55 PM >>> Subject: Re: USB Speakers? >>> >>> I have a pair that came with my Dell desktop. sound blaster xfi sound cards
Okay I have seen someone hear say that they have an sound blaster xfi sound card. Now or those better then the sound blaster live and the autogee cards that they have? And what are there good and bad points meaning the xfi cards? The reason for asking all of this is cause the next computer that I will get in the feature I was thinking about the xfi card for it. So I am looking forward to hearing more about the xfi card and how the uses of them like them over the other offerings that are out there. YouTube Flash player buttons
I've been working out the Flash player buttons on YouTube. I have managed to discover what most of them are for. I was even able to label them in Jaws. I just copied the controls to the clipboard and now I see there are a few more controls. Oops. the extra buttons disappeared when I pressed the 4 button. I also never saw the controls called "views" when I was labelling them. I'm sure I had labelled the control under play/pause as stop. This is what it looks like now after pressing the 4 button and when I was labelling them in the first place: Flash movie start play/pause stop fast forward 1 fast forward 2 00:07 / 10:13 16 17 unmute mute 20 21 23 24 25 Flash movie end So, I don't know how I got this set of controls that showed up when I decided to copy the page to show you all. Flash movie start 4 play/pause Views: Views: fast forward 1 fast forward 2 11 13 14 15 16 10:13 / 10:13 23 24 25 26 27 28 30 31 32 Flash movie end Has anyone else worked out what all the other buttons do?
