Replay AV Station and Show Info
Does anyone know where Replay AV stores the info about shows and stations one has scheduled? I'd like, if possible, to either copy those files or somehow export them so that I don't have to re-enter all that info when needing to reinstall the program. Similarily, does anyone know where the program saves its general settings? Thanks in advance for any guidance! Hi Folks: I am looking for a comparison between the delta 66 and the Delta 1010 audio cards. Are they both of the same quality? I say this because the 1010 lists for only $10 more than the 66. Updated Napster Scripts for JFW?
Near the end of 2003 I downloaded a short set of scripts for Napster that were designed for Napster Client 2.0.7.2. These were offered, I believe, on AccessiblePrograms.com, but are not any more. Since the iTunes Music Store is largely inaccessible to me as a blind PC user, especially when it comes to downloading or buying full albums, I've thought recently about Napster and have gotten a trial subscription to start with. But I've noticed the Napster client software is up to Ver. 3.8.1.4 now, and JAWS doesn't seem to respond to it well without scripts. Brian, I singled you out on this message because you've written on the Blind iPod list that you use this service and are happy with it. But I find that I must use the JAWS cursor to do most of the navigating; and selecting exactly what I want and getting to all the background info and all available albums is tricky, with the Virtual PC Cursor sometimes working and sometimes not. Anyone have tips? I haven't seen this issue discussed on the JFW list since 2004. -Kane Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: Replay AV Station and Show Info
Well, that's what I expected would need to be done. Copy and paste the info into a .txt file and then do the same when re-entering the info into the program. I have looked at the replay AV directory as well as scowering my document & settings folder and haven't spotted anything that would suggest the info is readily available. I hope that I am wrong. me too. i even went through the entire replay folder looking for logs or files of any kind that would put everything in there autimaticly. you could try making a backup coppy of the replay folder and all its contence and when you install on a new machine or a different version just coppy all the contence of the old one into the new one. i don't see why that wouldn't work. - Original Message - From: "Mike Pietruk" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC Audio Discussion List" Sent: Friday, August 31, 2007 9:17 AM Subject: Re: Replay AV Station and Show Info > Well, that's what I expected would need to be done. > Copy and paste the info into a .txt file and then do the same when > re-entering the info into the program. > I have looked at the replay AV directory as well as scowering my document > & settings folder and haven't spotted anything that > would suggest the info is readily available. > I hope that I am wrong. > > > On Fri, 31 Aug 2007, dennis wrote: > >> i've allways wondered the same thing because i have to keep a txt file >> with >> all the show names and url's. its not bad to have to re enter them on a >> new >> install if there is only 10 or so, but 20 or 30 is a pain. >> - Original Message - >> From: "Mike Pietruk" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >> To: "PC Audio Discussion List" >> Sent: Friday, August 31, 2007 8:09 AM >> Subject: Replay AV Station and Show Info >> >> >> > Does anyone know where Replay AV stores the info about shows and >> > stations >> > one has scheduled? >> > I'd like, if possible, to either copy those files or somehow export >> > them >> > so that I don't have to re-enter all that info when needing to >> > reinstall >> > the program. >> > Similarily, does anyone know where the program saves its general >> > settings? >> > >> > Thanks in advance for any guidance! >> > >> > Mike >> > >> > >> > >> > >> > Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... >> > http://www.pc-audio.org >> > >> > To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: >> > [EMAIL PROTECTED] >> > >> >> >> >> Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... >> http://www.pc-audio.org >> >> To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: >> [EMAIL PROTECTED] >> > > > Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... > http://www.pc-audio.org > > To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Dennis Your suggestion of copying makes sense -- and I do have a backup of the folder -- but it is also possible that the vital info is located somewhere in documents & settings or some other folder. Re: Updated Napster Scripts for JFW?
Hi Kane Thank you for your message. Yes I use Napster every week and don't have any real problems with it, here are a few things to try. First, you have an edit field into which you can type the artist or track you are looking for. Next to this is a combo box containing items such as artist or track. These are both accessible. Once this combo box is manipulated in the way you wish, Pressing Enter wil usually reveal a list of tracks. You can arrow down to a track, activate the context menu and select download. Upon activating the context menu, sometimes you will see an item "view artist page" which will be the first item on the menu. You can hit enter on this item. Once this is done, I start exploring with the jaws cursor. You can usually find the title of an album somewhere, or in some instances the phrase "other members downloaded" or something similar. Put the jaws cursor on any of those elements and route PC to jaws. the virtual cursor is then available, making it possible for you to select albums by pressing enter on the hyperlink for the album. From there, you can select the download album link. I did have a problem a couple of weeks ago when I downloaded an album, and then wanted to download part of it again. However, Napster will not let you do this because its internal database thought the tracks were in my library, which they were not. I called Napster, and they told me which files to delete in order to rectify that problem. I could find my notes on this and let you have them if you wanted. They were quite helpful at Napster and they realise there store is not completely accessible, but I have found it to be the most accessible music service with the widest range of tracks. Given that I have used it for about two years or more, I have a lot of experience in using it and if I can answer anything else please do not hesitate to ask. - Original Message - From: "Kane Brolin" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Brian Hartgen" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; "PC Audio Discussion List" Cc: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, August 31, 2007 3:06 PM Subject: Updated Napster Scripts for JFW? > Near the end of 2003 I downloaded a short set of scripts for Napster > that were designed for Napster Client 2.0.7.2. Re: Replay AV Station and Show Info
i have looked all through documents and settings and have found no reference to replay what so ever. so i would suggest the coppy method. i have a news reader that i use and applied this method when i got my new machine 2 weeks ago. i didn't have to subscribe to all the groups and scan for headers all over again because i just pasted the contence of the old folder into the new one. also if you go into documents and settings you can backup your favorite files in the same manner and you don't have to import export through IE. - Original Message - From: "Mike Pietruk" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC Audio Discussion List" Sent: Friday, August 31, 2007 10:25 AM Subject: Re: Replay AV Station and Show Info > Dennis > > Your suggestion of copying makes sense -- and I do have a backup of the > folder -- but it is also possible that the vital info is located somewhere > in > documents & settings or some other folder. > That's the rub. > > > On Fri, 31 Aug 2007, dennis wrote: > >> me too. i even went through the entire replay folder looking for logs or >> files of any kind that would put everything in there autimaticly. you >> could >> try making a backup coppy of the replay folder and all its contence and >> when >> you install on a new machine or a different version just coppy all the >> contence of the old one into the new one. i don't see why that wouldn't >> work. >> - Original Message - >> From: "Mike Pietruk" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >> To: "PC Audio Discussion List" >> Sent: Friday, August 31, 2007 9:17 AM >> Subject: Re: Replay AV Station and Show Info >> >> >> > Well, that's what I expected would need to be done. >> > Copy and paste the info into a .txt file and then do the same when >> > re-entering the info into the program. >> > I have looked at the replay AV directory as well as scowering my >> > document >> > & settings folder and haven't spotted anything that >> > would suggest the info is readily available. >> > I hope that I am wrong. >> > >> > >> > On Fri, 31 Aug 2007, dennis wrote: >> > >> >> i've allways wondered the same thing because i have to keep a txt file >> >> with >> >> all the show names and url's. its not bad to have to re enter them on >> >> a >> >> new >> >> install if there is only 10 or so, but 20 or 30 is a pain. >> >> - Original Message - >> >> From: "Mike Pietruk" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >> >> To: "PC Audio Discussion List" >> >> Sent: Friday, August 31, 2007 8:09 AM >> >> Subject: Replay AV Station and Show Info >> >> >> >> >> >> > Does anyone know where Replay AV stores the info about shows and >> >> > stations >> >> > one has scheduled? >> >> > I'd like, if possible, to either copy those files or somehow export >> >> > them >> >> > so that I don't have to re-enter all that info when needing to >> >> > reinstall >> >> > the program. >> >> > Similarily, does anyone know where the program saves its general >> >> > settings? >> >> > >> >> > Thanks in advance for any guidance! >> >> > >> >> > Mike >> >> > >> >> > >> >> > >> >> > >> >> > Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... >> >> > http://www.pc-audio.org >> >> > >> >> > To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: >> >> > [EMAIL PROTECTED] >> >> > >> >> >> >> >> >> >> >> Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... >> >> http://www.pc-audio.org >> >> >> >> To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: >> >> [EMAIL PROTECTED] >> >> >> > >> > >> > Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... >> > http://www.pc-audio.org >> > >> > To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: >> > [EMAIL PROTECTED] >> > >> >> >> >> Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... >> http://www.pc-audio.org >> >> To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: >> [EMAIL PROTECTED] >> > > > Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... > http://www.pc-audio.org > > To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Darrell and Mark, The synchronous part of this is that I just ran into the same problem, with My Space that you did (Mark), but, I could not, apparently, find a reasonable way to contact them, in their contact link! Actually, last I knew, myspace is owned by news corporation. Youtube is owned by Google, which has the ability to do this. They may think, oh why would we care about videos, but we can't listen to the audio of certain content unless we log in. - Original Message - From: "Mac Norins" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC Audio Discussion List" Sent: Friday, August 31, 2007 10:55 AM Subject: Re: verification messages on sites > Darrell and Mark, > > The synchronous part of this is that I just ran into the same problem, > with > My Space that you did (Mark), but, I could not, apparently, find a > reasonable way to contact them, in their contact link! Well, now! I am not going to belabor this point, but, since My Space is owned by Rupert Murdoch, I will just have to boycott it, for some time to come! Yes, and I discovered Facebook asks for one of these periodicly when doing things like adding a friend. Replay AV 8 backup file answer for you
Replay AV 8 does offer a backup file for you. Actually you can use either one of the 2 files. Go to Program Files and find Replay AV 8 and then either schedule8.dat or the schedule8backup.dat file. So if you backup this file to a CD for backup purposes you will be able to import into your Replay AV 8 in the future. I did a podcast on this. Perhaps Google will find a way to fix this YouTube problem, as it has done with originsites such as Gmail. Note that Google did not invent YouTube. It just recently acquired it. You do not, by the way, have to subscribe to YouTube or to get around CAPTCHAs to listen to audio or watch videos, unless those have explicit sexual content. But you did have to subscribe, using the CAPTCHA as one element of that process, if you wish to post content. -Kane Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

The Radio Shark 2 from Grifin Technology
Hi! Well Grifin Technology seem to have done it again, some listers may remember the discussion we had on the wonderful Imic device this company released some time back, since then the Imic has undergone a few revisions. Now the Radio Shark 2 has come to my attention. Its an am/fm radio that plugs into a USB port on your computer, the radio is controlled by software and the supplied software is able to allow "time shifting".. Suppose for example you're listening to the Radio Shark through your computer and the phone rings, you can then pause your listening and resume from where you left off when you finish the phone call. Now I'm seriously thinking of getting one of these things but I'm wondering before I take the plunge, has anyone been more courageous than I am and actually bought and tried one? If you have then what did you think of it, was reception reasonable? Was the software accessible? This isn't a concern from my point of view as I use an Imac computer and I have software which is accessible here in the form of Audio Hijack Pro which could control the radio Shark if need be. Finally, are there any similar devices anyone knows of out there. ** Dane Trethowan From Melton Victoria Australia Email [EMAIL PROTECTED] phone uk 0121 288 4976 Phone/tty (+61 3) 9747 975 Fax +61 3 9743 7954 mobile/sms: +61425 777 508 Skype: callto:grtdane12 MSN: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ** Join the fight against spam! Audio Editors For The Mac
Hi! Since I last wrote on this subject I'm happy to say there have been some excellent advances in the Audio Editing software on available for the Mac, the unfortunate news is that (as far as I'm aware) the good folk who develop Pro Tools have not yet seen fit to make their product accessible, funny howe previous versions of this application were extremely accessible under Mac OS 9 Classic but that's another issue so we can only keep writing, hoping and praying. I've spoken of the Sound Studio audio editor before, this has undergone some significant upgrades in the last few months, one of which is the added ability toe "cue/review" a file in a similar way that Sound Forge does, use number 2 to fast forward and 1 to rewind. Sound Studio has also incorporated more cursor movements to allow the quick moving through a file and more commands to manipulate and select sound data through shortcut commands from the keyboard. Sound Studio gives you access to many effects and processes such as pitch change, flange, faze, various graphic equalisers, noise generation, delay etc so its a bit more than an audio editor but well priced at $79.00 As a final note about Sound Studio, if multi track editing is your thing then this software comes into its own with full milti track editing support which is fully accessible. If you wish to find out more about Sound Studio then visit http://www.feltip.com Now if you're thinking of just a basic sound editor then Fission may be more suited to you at $50.00 and when we're talking basic then that's exactly what we're talking here, all Fission does is edit audio but it does this task very well. Fission like sound Studio has "Cue/Review" commands, the great thing here is that you can see exactly where the play head is in the form of a time reading so you can "split" a file at the touch of a keystroke, set a selection point at the play head at the touch of a keystroke etc. What Fission really has going for it in my view is that it can use Cue Sheets for importing or exporting data, many CD Rippers on the market today produce Cue sheets and such software includes Exact Audio Copy, Easy CD DA extractor and Max Audio CD Ripper just to name a few. A cue file is a simple text file that's produced along with a Wave or FLAC file which contains the sound of the audio CD or audio project, the Cue sheet contains information on the CD or Audio project, at which points on the CD tracks begin and end, the names of these tracks etc. Fission can act on these files so for example if you had a cue and Wave file from a CD created by a ripper, you could load them into Fission and have fission export the results in another format, say MP3, ALAC, M4A, Aif etc. Among Fissions other features are trim crop, normalise, smart split (splits the file according to chages in audio level) etc. Fission still lacks a little functionality such as a "go to" dialog box but we're happy to say that the author of Fission seems to be very contactable and open to suggestions so we're hoping that improvements will be made to the software in the "not-to-distant" future. As you can see, Fission is a very basic piece of software, its actually designed to be used as part of a package, with other peices of software such as Audio Hijack Pro, a multi purpose multi-function piece of recording software which "hijacks" and records every possible audio source on a Mac that you can think of, these sources include the 2 ends of a Skype call and even Hidden applications running in the background on a Mac which includes Voiceover, the Screen Reading Software built-in to OS Tiger and the soon to be released upgrade OS Lepard. Nicecast, a software application which allows netcasting of various inputs and sources from your computer, all these products are extremely accessible. Re: Audio Editors For The Mac
Right, well I really cannot answer your questions when it comes to comparing audio editors on the mac with Cool Edit or Adobe Audition, I have used those applications but its been aqbsolute ages since I've touched them. How accessible is a Mac? Well with the two editing applications and others I mentioned in my original message its perfectly accessible with those. I'd be telling fibs if I told you that VoiceOver is accessible with every application written for a Mac, that just isn't true and I venture to say that the same holds true with accessability on a PC running Windows. Suffice to say, accessability will be a thousand times better for the Mac when Lepard comes along in less than 2 months time. If you want further information on accessability as it stands write now for various applications then perhaps it would be a good idea to write me privately and we can discuss this topic in a broad nature which isn't confined to audio. Of course, with the new Macs, you can use such software as Bootcamp and Fusion to boot Windows, that way you can use both JAWS and Window-Eyes for those times when you need to use applications that aren't around for the Mac, if you use Fusion then you can switch between Mac OS and Windows at the touch of a keystroke, handy when you wish to say copy data between different applications on in the different operating systems. If you use Bootcamp then you either boot into Windows or the Mac Operating system when the computer starts up. Hope this has helped.
