Hi Hank,
I doubt that the scripts would work with anything other than the WinTv2k.exe

Bluetooth headphone and PC

2007-03-11 Thread Kathy Szinnyey
Hi, all. Okay, so I bought a bluetooth headphone/microphone which I should
be able to use both with a cell phone (which I don't care about) and other
bluetooth devices. I have my computer and the headphones seeing each other,
but I don't know now how to tell my computer to play audio through the
bluetooth headpones.. How do I do that? Thanks in advance.

Peace,
Kathy

Download volume

2007-03-11 Thread Morey Worthington
Hello all,
Using one of the file sharing programs
I am using Win/XP home and Jaws 8.0. I have downloaded some songs which are
all instrumental and MP3's. A couple of them have a download volume which is
about 50 percent of some of the others.
While attempting to burn them to a CD, using the equalizer tab, should this
make all the volumes equal?
Using Nero 5.0 Express.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Morey

Re: Ipods, what's being used these days.

2007-03-11 Thread Chris Skarstad
Well now remember, that all depends. The Mac enthusiasts of the
world certainly claim that iTunes is more accessible, which is
awesome and all, but if you're a windows user, i'm afraid it's not so good.
I've heard reports that it is somewhat more usable with Window-eyes
6.1, but I tried it and didn't get very far with it, either with that
or JAWS 8.0.

Winamp's Station info Window

2007-03-11 Thread Dana S. Leslie
In Winamp 5.33, if one starts a stream from the library, a script error
occurs. But, also, the station info window opens, and, if one clears the
error message, one can use the JAWS cursor to read the station info.
Unfortunately, this is the only way I have found to get the station info
window to work. Starting a stream from a bookmark, or in any other way, and
manually opening the station info window, with alt-b, doesn't generate any
content in the window. Am I missing something? Does anyone know of a way to
get the station info content after starting a stream without going through
the library?

Thanks.

Hi Peter,

No. Nothing more from MySpace. It just hasn't yet been important enough
for me to take it further, but it is definitely one of many access issues
that needs to be tackled, especially with respect to the CAPTCHA. I'm not
aware of a review of the OpticBook 3600 by itself. The Plustek Book Reader
is available on the Main Menu On Demand page at acbradio.org.

 Hi Jon,

Yep, and, once you do that, you lost almost all advantages of doing
 this
 in
the first place since the channels must then be changed at the box.
 Bummer.

Re: Ipods, what's being used these days.

2007-03-11 Thread Arthur Barney
Hi Damon,
ITunes is know more accessible with Windows than before.
You can buy scripts from,
http://www.tandt-consultancy.com/links.html
which are expensive, and doesn't work with all parts of ITunes.

Sound blaster X-FI

2007-03-11 Thread Donald L. Roberts

Hello,

I am asking on behalf of a friend who is not on this list.

My friend bought a new computer which has integrated audio and
video. He is purchased a Sound Blaster X-FI audio card which was
installed when the machine was built. His desire was to have the
screen reader on the integrated card, whose make and model we
don't know, and the music and other things to go through the
X-FI.

Thus far, he has not been able to get any sound through the on
board card, with all going through the Sound Blaster.

Although my gut feeling is that the techs disabled the on board
card in the bios, I seem to recall at least one message on this
list a couple of months ago from an audiofile who had a similarl
problem with the same Sound Blaster card. So I am writing here
to get feedback on this problem. My friend has configured
Window-eyes properly for both cards to be used as described
above.

Thanks in advance for ideas as to how to solve this problem.
Somehow, I think that the tech who built the machine did not
understand that my friend wanted both cards to be available for
use.

Don Roberts

Re: Cutting out commercials?

2007-03-11 Thread Brent Harding
Can it do it with just about any video format? My way of doing it is just
converting to audio and manually clipping them out. It depends whether I
will be loading stuff to my rockbox-enabled MP3 player whether I would
bother to do such a thing versus using the USB remote to make Winamp
fast-forward.

Re: Tv Tuner Cards

2007-03-11 Thread Brent Harding
You could use an IR blaster hooked to the USB port. I never tried this
before though, and you would then need something like Snapstream Beyond TV
because Replay doesn't yet support these.

Ok! For what likely is the stupid question for the month of March on
 this
 list:

I would like to run the signal of our tv cable into a desktop pc.
I am guessing that I need a tv tuner usb card into which I plug the
 cable.
That is probably the simple part.
I am also guessing that I also need a piece of software to select the
channels that are playing at any given moment, and this could have some
accessability issues as the wrong software might make channel hopping
 difficult.

I am using Window-Eyes 6.0 on a machine operating with XP home with 512
 mb
 of ram.
There is plentyof free disk space.

Can you folks give me some direction as to what I need to look for.
 While
I rather spend more than less, my ultimate goal is simplicity of us
preferably with the simplicity I can get now of tapping a few keys or
numbers and getting to the desired channel.
