To Gary and others: Again I say if you don't like the way ACB Radio is operating you can do one of the following 1. Volenteer to help out. ACB Radio is not only about broadcasting, we could always use help in web design, program ideas, obtaining sponsorship donations, Information technology assistance. 2. Offer constructive criticism to the director and the staff utilizing the ACB Radio survey on the homepage or sending email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] 3. Sending letters or emails to the ACB President and the Board of publications It is easy to sit on a list and "bitch" about something you don't like but it is better to do something about it... Hi Barry! I feel that all in all, I think that the folks at ACB Radio do a great job. I think that while Jonathan was the director, he did an excellent job while he was at the helm! But I do think that it takes all of us to make ACB Radio what it is, and could be. Thanks, Barry, for pointing that out. I'm rather fond of a show called Tuesday Topics that's on ACBRadio. Hello, the dvd's just have more space on them. I don't know how they do it, but they just work. Instead of seven cd's for Fibber Mcgee And Molly, I back the whole set up onto one dvd. I don't understand the technical side of the dvd versus cd storage space, but I'll take one disc over seven. Thanks a lot. Matthew Tired of HotMail? Re: some help with gold wave.
Ok, I do this all the time, so I'll tell you what I've figured out. When you enter the time Warp dialog, arrow through the presets. You want to find one that uses the similarity algorithm. I double the speed, and I can't remember if the present called '200 per cent via similarity" was already there or if I created it. similarity is a slow process, but seems to yield the best compression. You can also use the fft process, but I think it's more suited to music. Assuming you have an existing preset for 200 percent via similarity, if you want to double the speed, that's all you'll need to do. You can tab to the preview button to see what the file will sound like. As you tab through the dialog, you'll find a set of radio buttons to dictate whether you want to set the percentage of speed you want or the end length of the file you want to achieve. I think it's easier to use the percentage. There is an edit field to specify the speed, with 200 per cent being double and fifty per cent being half speed. There are two values, Window Size, which should be set for 20, and Search Range, which should be set for 10.If there are no presets for the Similarity algorithm, you set the algorithm with the left and right arrow keys on a tab control located between the percentage edit field and the window size edit field. I hope you can piece it together from these admittedly fragmented instructions. If not, let me know. Hi, Don't quote me on this but I believe the laser ray for DVD is smaller then the laser ray for cd. This would allow for smaller burn patterns allowing for more data storage. Re: Using DVD's on a Computer
Once I found out about Blue Ray's 25-gig dvd's, I went and found an article which said that the format is still in development, because they can't decide on a standard format, or between two different companies. I would rather have waited and learned about it when the product was shipping, and everything is straightened out. We'll just have to wait a while and see which product comes out, and which equipment to buy to get the job done. Thanks a lot. Matthew Tired of HotMail?
