Panning in Goldwave

2006-01-21 Thread Samuel Wilkins
I would like to do some panning in Goldwave. However, I can't get access to all
of the controls in panning such as the X control. Could someone tell me how to
do it?

Recording my VHS tapes to DVD

2006-01-21 Thread Ann McCay
For the new year, I want to get all of my audio-described VHS movies to
files on my PC which will work in my DVD drive. (Or a stand-alone DVD, but I
don't have one of those.)
What I have is Nero 6 on the PC, which I believe does record DVD's once the
files are on the PC, and a DVDRW drive. And there might be some inaccessible
DVD software on here, not sure.

I have a VCR which I can hook to the PC with proper cabling. Is there an
accessible TVTuner card, or other card, that I can use? I'm wondering if
there's a piece of software with at least an accessible start button so that
I can set everything up and get it going?
Thanks.

Question About the Winamp Library

2006-01-21 Thread Steve Matzura
I asked this, or at least thought I did. Never saw the original
question nor any responses, but that's not so strange, I think a good
quarter of all my yahoogroups messages get lost somewhere in the ether
out there because I never see them ...

Anyway, my question: Is there a way to just load up a Winamp library
and tell it to start randomly playing without making up those stupid
playlists and waiting for your machine to churn churn churn and pick
something randomly from said playlist?

Is there a better way of doing this?

Put all your music into a single folder, or subfolders of a single folder.
Open Winamp and press S, to toggle on the Shuffle feature. Then, pres

Re: Question About the Winamp Library

2006-01-21 Thread Kevin Lloyd
Hi Steve.

Yes, a better way may be to look at a program called Audigen from Red Chair
Software. You will be able to load your music into the database and have
full accessibility to browse by artist, album, genre or track, search by
simple text or complex SQL, create playlists that can be played randomly or
play any of the previously mentioned categories, artists, genre, etc.

If I remember correctly, it costs less than $25 so it's well worth it to
have full access to your music collection.

Yeah, been there done that, it's still slow as molasses and doesn't
answer the original question as to whether it's possible to do that
from the library window. In other words, what good's the library? I
can use Windows Find to find just about anything except by tags that
aren't directly related to filenames. Also, the shuffle feature
doesn't keep track of what's been played recently.
