problem with Sound card

2005-10-15 Thread John
Hello
I have an Audigy 2 sound card in my Dell PC running Windows XP Pro and
Window-Eyes with Dectalk Access for Window-eyes (and not the separately
installed speech engine).
The problem is that when an audio alert such as a wave file called by an
email program or the MSN Messenger coincides with Dectalk outputting speech
a loud click is emitted giving the impression that the sound card isn't
configured for simultaneous outputs.
Has anybody experienced this before and if so, what remedies are there
available?
Many thanks,
John

setting up shoutcast server

2005-10-15 Thread Reese
Hi list:

I need major help trying to setup a shoutcast server.
1. Where or how do I find out my IP number to use and port number?
2. Is there some documentation for dummy's to setup this server or anyone who
can write me offline and guide me through this maze.
The docs from winamp and shoutcast aren't helping. But I shouldn't have to
tell you folks that one.
Thanks very much.

yes, that's exactly the problem i have with freedb. but the point is that i
have made copies from cd's. and the numbers on copies from cd's are a bit
different
than the orriginal cd's
freedb does not recognise them.
gracenote seems to be more flexible
i have tried it for days without success, so unlucklily i will have to move
to another programm, and that means days of extra work to move all my cd's
in a
new collection. i have about 21500 cd's.

Need Help with CDEx and ASPI Drivers

2005-10-15 Thread Kelly Sapergia
Hi,
I'm experiencing a problem with CDEx. I loaded it a couple days ago,
and it seemed to work fine, but after I started it again a bit later, I got
the following message:

Native NT SCSI Library support is not supported by this operating system.
You have to install ASPI drivers in order to use CDex.

I rebooted the system thinking that might correct the problem, and the
program began working propperly again, or so I thought. Now, whenever I try
ripping a CD, it doesn't look like the program is doing anything. I press
the Cancel button, and the program locks up.
Does anyone know how to correct this problem? Alternatively, is there a
site where I can grab these ASPI drivers?
I think the drivers I originally had were erased, without my permission,
when I installed the ImToo DVD Audio Extractor program a few months ago.
Thanks.

Yours Sincerely,
Kelly John Sapergia

Learning to use total recorder.

2005-10-15 Thread Carliss
Hello Listers!

I just down loaded and registered total recorder. However, I don't know how
to use it.

Please will some one tell me how to get started and about the different
components, and how they work? I really would appreciate it.

You know, I have been hearing that this is a pretty good program. Well,
hopefully I'll soon find that out!

Thanks to all,

Carliss

Well, Aad later corrected his typo, and said it was only 1,500. still, I
think, your question stands.

21,500! Wow! And my friends think I spend too much on CDs! I've got
only a few hundred- a mere piker by your standards.

"but the point is that I have made copies from cd's. and the numbers on
copies from cd's are a bit different
than the orriginal cd's"

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by this. can you explain further?

yes, that's exactly the problem i have with freedb. but the point is that i
have made copies from cd's. and the numbers on copies from cd's are a bit
different
than the orriginal cd's
freedb does not recognise them.
gracenote seems to be more flexible
i have tried it for days without success, so unlucklily i will have to move
to another programm, and that means days of extra work to move all my cd's
in a
new collection. i have about 21500 cd's.
