Randy! I guess for recording high quality stereo you'll need to ad a
Line Level input to your computer. Either a USB, Firewire or PCMCIA audio
device. Sound Blaster Audigy would be OK.

I've sorted out the Freeverb problem

2005-06-03 Thread Samuel
Hi, I have sorted out the Freeverb problem with Window Eyes. I came upon it by
accident. What I did was this. I went into the freeverb dialog and routed my
mouse pointer to the PC cursor with insert plus. What I did was used my
computer mouse, not my mouse cursor. I moved the ball slowly and when Window
Eyes said either dry mix wet, min damping max or small room size large, I
stopped moving the ball and did a middle click. You could also do a left click.
What it did then was it took me into the track bar for that parameter. The page
up, page down, home and end keys worked, but when I used one of the arrow keys,
it took me out of the track bar and back into the main window. I just had to do
a middle or left click again. Also, you can't use the arrow keys, you have to
do control, shift, alt and one of the arrow keys. To avoid being taken out of
the track bar, use your read current line command, insert numpad five. You can
continue previewing it while you are doing this by pressing F four. I hope that
will sort out your problem Tim and the problem that other people have been
having with Window Eyes. Samuel. No virus found in this outgoing message.

2005-06-03 Thread Dana S. Leslie

Randy,

On my desktop computer, instead of the C-media card that came with the unit,
I use the Griffin Technologies USB IMic. It's small enough that it should
work well with a lap-top. if you ultimately decide to go the USB route, I
can highly recommend it. It gives great sound quality, and the noise
reduction is wonderful.

Hi. I have a lap top with only a mike input and an ear phone jack.
How do I record some audio from an external source to the computer? My 1
and only idea as of now is to purchase an attenuator chord but I'm not
sure that's what I need to do. For those of you who know the answer, I'm
embarrassed to ask the question because it sounds so basic. But I'll ask
any way since I'd like the answer.
I'm used to thinking of recording audio with a mixer and I think this is
part of what is confusing me. I hope all are having a great day.

Hi all!
I bought a patch chord, and hooked my handy cassette to the computer,

come out of both speakers, and how to I keep jaws out of the recording?

Sorting RealPlayer's Library?

2005-06-03 Thread Dana S. Leslie
How do I sort the tracks in RealPlayer's My Library? The tracks I initially
imported into My Library were sorted by Artist, and by track title within
each artist. But I've added a few tracks since then, and the newer tracks
have all gone to the bottom of the list.

I've looked in all the likely places for a sort command, but can't fine one.

Thanks.

In Winap there are two plug ins in the Output section. What is the
difference between them and why would you use one or the other?

And are there others and what for?

Hello Dana,

Did you try "add Tracks" under the File Menu? There are also Preferences under
My Library in the View Menu.

In the Preferences under My Library you should be able to change the columns
for your library contents.

If all you want is for added tracks to go into the artist folders instead of
creating a new folder, does shutting down Real Player and turning it back on
have this effect?

Total recorder 5.2 question

2005-06-03 Thread Donald L. Roberts

Hello,

I posted the below message three days ago but got no response, so
thought I would try again as I really hope to find the answer. Thanks.

A couple of questions if I may.
1. Is it possible using Total Recorder 5.2 to use software recording to
record audio streams if I am using software speech. I do not have the
Total Recorder registry patch that some persons have mentioned.
Question 2. Did I understand someone on this list to say that
accelerated software recording precludes one from using either a
hardware or software synthesizer? I haven't tried this; I just want to
know what others think.

Re: Total recorder 5.2 question

2005-06-03 Thread Susan Wojtecki

Don,
Using Total Recorder with XP and Service Pack Two, I have been successful in
recording software streams without the registry patch and without picking up
any background noises from software speech. I'm not sure why XP works in
this situation when Windows 98 did not but hopefully it will work for you.
Given that Total Recorder does not seem to behave the same for everyone for
reasons beyond me, I suggest that you at least try it out. Good luck.

Do you want to manually sort? I think the options may sort automatically. If
you want a manual sort, I think you're out of luck unless you creatively rename
tracks.

I'll have to take a closer look over the weekend. If you want/need to
