Bruce! If Winamp is set to play PLS files then Winamp should come up.
This sounds like one of those little problems that will go away after a
while, perhaps after a reboot, perhaps with another stream.

Re: cda to wav and back to cda question

2004-12-27 Thread Jerry Richer
You shouldn't experience any loss in quality converting between CDA and
Wave. Go back and forth all you like, the quality should remain. Just
don't start changing the Wave file by changing the sampleing rate or bit
rate or changing to mono. Converting to MP3 will degrade the quality and
you won't get it back by converting the MP3 back to Wave.

Re: Power Screw On C-crane FM Transmitter?

2004-12-27 Thread shannon work
Thank you Lois, Gary, Paul and Tom,

I was hoping that a Y type splitter would work. I am going to call them
today and see what my chances are of getting one of the stereo models ASAP.
I thank you all. I only I had had the time to ask all these questions before
Santa came. I could have passed this on to the elves. Smile!
When I do get my little paws on one of these I'll probably ask the question
that started this. What ever is the power screw for? I saw that there was an
answer as how to find it and how to access it with a tiny screw driver but,
Why do you want to?

I'll need to know that answer when I get my new toy!

I appreciate all the help.
Have a Happy New Year!!

AAC files in the player rather than in the PC.
. Most Compatible Player - Built-in support for Windows® Media Connect and
Windows Media Player 10; Apple RendezvousT and iTunes®; Rhapsody; and any music
services using Windows Media DRM 10 such as Napster, Musicmatch and WalMart.com.

Forge and with it any tape player will do. Once the tape is recorded I can
manipulate it with the Sound Forge tools: separate the tracks, slow it down

Yes, I use sound Forge, and I guess I will use it to clean up the sound.
would it be possible to play a tape at fast speed, then use re-sample or
some other tool to bring the speed down without effecting the sound
quality. Thus potentially saving time..

Does this sequence work for others: quick way 2 find stations in Play list?

2004-12-27 Thread ptusing
Hi,
I may have figuredthis out.
To get into radio station list fast using MediaPlayer 10, Itriedthis.
1. opened MediaPlayer.
2. I hit "alt + a" which brought up the station lista nd asked me how I
wantedto add to the library.
3. I his "escape".
4. Clicked using JAWS slash or single mouse click.
That put me in the list of stations.
Is there a faster or better way?

Using Media Player 10

2004-12-27 Thread ptusing
Hi,
there is 1 feature that is less bnlind friendly.
So I ask is there a way to type the path to get into the Playlists
ofstations directly?
inside the Media Library
or some keyboard commandto get to Library faster than

alt v
L for library andthen tab around till one gets actually into the Playlist of
radio stations.
Is there a hot key to get into the Playlist fast?
The issue is getting *directly* to the list of stations in My Play lists.

Re: Veronica broken

2004-12-27 Thread Andy Logue
Hi Don and thanks for writing.

To be honest, before the quality deteriorated, I had attempted to turn the
screw which was located at the base. Perhaps I've damaged it in there also,
as the screw was hard to feel. I've written to the company so fingers
crossed. Perhaps they will have a look at it for me.

Thanks again for your reply and enjoy the rest of the festive holiday.

Best wishes.
Andy

PANASONIC RXD29 CD RADIO CASSETTE BOOM-BOXK

2004-12-27 Thread Dane Trethowan

Greetings!
I got a Panasonic rxD29 CD radio cassette recorder for Christmas and I'm
thinking of reviewing it for this list, would anyone be interested?
What's so special about this boom-box? Well, it plays MP3 and WMA files on
either CD-ROM or CD-RW CD'S and does this job very well with a choice of
decoder software, various surround-sound modes etc.
To my knowledge, this portable is the first of its kind made by a leading
consumer electronics manufacturer to be marketed in Australia, and as far as
I'm aware, other manufacturers like Sony etc are not marketing any such device
with so many detailed features etc. Teac have a CD radio which will do the job
at half the price but... well... you get what you pay for and the Teac is a
toy compared to the Panasonic beauty.
Its odd really as you see plenty of CD walkmans and CD micro/mini systems which
play MP3 but not too many boom-boxes which do it.
Anyway if their is enough interest? then I'll draft my impressions.
Its interesting to note that these things can be a bit hard to track down, all
the places that my Father visited before Christmas had run out of stock.

2004-12-27 Thread Hamish Mackenzie
Hi Don't have WMP 10 on my machine at work so off the top of my head why
don't you try the following.

Get the stream you want to bookmark playing and then go to the file menu
and arrow down to add to library and then right arrow into the sub menu
and arrow down to add currently playing playlist. This then opens a
regular save dialogue box. Rename the file to something that makes a
bit more sense to you than what WMP comes up with and then save it to a
folder of your choice. next time you want to hear this station just go
back to the file menu and hit enter on open and navigate to the station
you want to hear and hit enter and you should be up and running.
