2014-03-02 Thread saikrishna sripada
Hi All/Alej,

I am a M.S student from India. My current research work is on Computer
Networks, Cloud computing.I have been following involving with openstack
since the past one year. I have contributed to open-stack in the past but
its just bits and pieces here and there. I always thought of picking a
blueprint and implementing it is doable by me with some guidance. Luckily I
found open-stack participating in GSOC 2014.As for me its possible to
implement the"Add a New Storage Backend"project. With my past experience
with the openstack project I am sure I could help your project both during
GSOC and after. Please reply me if you find my idea interesting.

Now about me:
I am Sai Krishna, M.S in computer science student at IIIT-Hyderabad
university, Hyderabad.I am good with c++ and python programming. I am
currently working on a tool which uses Bloom filter for Packet attribution
systems (trace back the source of malicious packet efficiently). I am also
having experience building command line modules and handling alarms in
various network elements of Nokia Siemens networks(currently Nokia
solutions networks). I have also worked in deploying openstack on fedora
and Ubuntu distributions and integrating
foremanto compute node
for auto-discovery feature. Also fixed two bugs in Glance
and keystone modules.

My study on the task :

[openstack-dev] Fwd: [GSOC] Guidance for "Add a New Storage Backend" project.

2014-03-02 Thread saikrishna sripada
Hi Srinivas/Alej/All,

Adding to my earlier mail,

I found "Implement a re-usable shared library for vmware (oslo.vmware) to
be consumed by various OpenStack projects like Nova, Cinder or
Glance<https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/GSoC2014/Incubator/SharedLib>"
also interesting.
Please help me choose the project and guide me further about contributing
and selection criteria for geting selected in GSOC 2014 and also to
contribute to the project after GSOC.

Best Regards,
--sai krishna.

[openstack-dev] [re]: [GSoC 2014] Proposal Template

2014-03-06 Thread saikrishna sripada
Hi Masaru,

I tried creating the project template following your suggestions.Thats
really helpful. Only one suggestion:

Under the project description, We can give the link to actual project idea.
The remaining details like these can be removed here since this can be
redundant.

   - What is the goal?
   - How will you achieve your goal?
   - What would be your milestone?
   - At which time will you complete a sub-task of your project?

These details we will be filling any way in the Project template link just
which will be just below in the page. Please confirm.

Thanks,
--sai krishna.

Dear mentors and students,

Hi,

after a short talk with dims, I created an application template wiki
page[1]. Obviously, this is not a completed version, and I'd like your
opinions to improve it. :)

I have :
1) simply added information such as :

・Personal Details (e.g. Name, Email, University and so on)

・Project Proposal (e.g. Project, idea, implementation issues, and time
scheduling)

・Background (e.g. Open source, academic or intern experience, or
language experience)

2) linked this page on GSoC 2014 wiki page[2]
3) created an example of my proposal page [3] (not completed yet!)
4) linked the example to an Oslo project page[4]

Thank you,
Masaru
