I'm very keen to know if anyone else is seeing grey textures that are
talking longer/never loading WRT previous snowglobe versions or if
anyone is seeing any unusal entries in the log/console due to
textures. My part of SNOW-196 in theory if things are not working as i
expected could potentially cause some texture issues, hence the
testing here.

I also want to know about hard lockup deads locks, if anyone was
finding snowglobe freezing solid before and now its fine for them,
please also let me know here, or directly via email/in world etc.

Thanks

Robin,

I've been using it since its release and haven't had one lockup. N.B. this
hasn't been any sort of regression testing, just normal use.

Re: [opensource-dev] Through the which function is possible to stop revoking pieMenu

2010-02-08 Thread Nexii Malthus
Believe it or not, but it has a pretty obvious name: lltoolpie.cpp
For specific objects, via uuid or name? If via name, it may not be easily
available.

[opensource-dev] edit appearance dialog where is the code??

2010-02-08 Thread Robert Martin
I have an idea for a program that would just about need to reimplement
the edit appearance dialog and i was wondering
how self contained is the code for the dialog (bonus round question
what files are used?)? I would need just the settings sliders not the
thumbnails or any of the rendered views.

As part of SL 2.0 is anybody doing a "White Rabbits Guide to the Codebase"?

I'm using Snowglobe 1.3 RC1 since today (Linux) - I crashed 3 times
in 4 sessions, with wiewer suddenly freezing. Need to kill -9 the
process to exit.

This is quite new in my experience, meaning that crashes happen
to me with almost any viewer, but I rarely saw freezes.

I'm using official drivers from Nvidia, and I didn't change
hardware recently, but I often update my system and sometimes
I use experimental software - so this is not a 100% vanilla environment.

I'm going to waiting for comments and more testing before filing this one.
More details about viewer follow below.

Just checking that your viewer is indeed 1.3.1.3125, February 5, 2010?

Certainly sounds like there is still a dead lock present, i've had a bit
of feedback since saying some people have running fine now and was
hoping we had cracked this for the minute, but 3 lockups does not look
good.

Do you do your own builds? the only way for certain to know whats up is
to run the viewer under gdb (but for useful results this required your
own build with debug symbols), and then when a lock up occurs to break
the debugger then print the back traces of the threads involved.

I had a very long fashion show yesterday with 38+ people in the model sim and
50-65 people in the visitor sim. I had no deadlock at all, and all the textures
on the model sim (where i were too rezzed
well). I only had serious trouble to get most of the textures in the visitor
sim loaded, but I guess that was not related to the client version but the
heavy lag on that sim.

What is still a problem, but not related to the mentioned fixes, is the crash
when the client has loaded a given amount of stuff. You sooner or later crash,
somewhere around 1,3 GB of used memory (Win
7 64bit, but that happened on Vista 64bit and XP 32bit, too).

What I see often in the log is

WARNING: LLVOAvatar::getTargetAttachmentPoint: Object attachment point
invalid: 128

but probably related to some avatar using Emerald with additional attachment
points

There are several

INFO: LLSDXMLParser::Impl::parse: LLSDXMLParser::Impl::parse:
XML_STATUS_ERROR parsing:Internal Server Error

too and I see many

INFO: LLCircuitData::dumpResendCountAndReset: Circuit:
:12035 resent packets

in the log.

I can build the viewer, but I never did the gdb+debug build thing yet.

I'll grab last sources, look at the docs and try - some wiki pages
are a mess, so tips about how to do this would be appreciated.

no deadlock for me, 0 crash, no other "bad" hang/freeze, just slow to
rendering textures.
