[OpenIndiana-discuss] Where is iwl driver?

2011-04-20 Thread 村川 了
Hi,
Today I found the URL below.

And I found the Intel 6250 AGN works on OpenIndiana with iwl driver.
But I can't find this iwl driver. So please tell me how to install iwl driver on
my laptop.

Regards.

Re: [OpenIndiana-discuss] CIFS slow reads but fast writes

2011-04-20 Thread Dan Swartzendruber

I've sent several messages to the list since early yesterday, and they
seem to have been getting blackholed. I sent email to the list admin to
see if they can figure anything out, but am trying one more message to
see if that goes through. Synopsis: seems to be something smb protocol
related. NFS got almost 70MB/sec on reads from the same centos host
that got 1/2 that using cifs. Also tried samba on the OI box with
almost identical results :(

I've seen a few posts from you about this (perhaps you just didn't get them
yourself?). What's curious is that the problems are consistent with samba and
the CIFS server. Are you sure you have disabled the CIFS server correctly
before starting samba?

Vennlige hilsener / Best regards

[OpenIndiana-discuss] Diagnosing system crash

2011-04-20 Thread Martyn Klassen
I recently updated the driver and firmware on my Adaptec RAID card and the
system now randomly reboots. I tried reverting to an earlier boot environment
with the old drivers, but I still get random system reboots.

Nothing in the log files in /var/adm and /var/log seems to indicate the source
of these crashes. I tried to configure the system to produce core dumps on
crash by enabling dumpadm

# dumpadm -y
  Dump content: kernel pages
   Dump device: /dev/zvol/dsk/rpool/dump (dedicated)
Savecore directory: /var/crash/ernst
  Savecore enabled: yes
   Save compressed: on

But /var/crash/ernst is empty when the system reboots.

Is there something else that needs to be configured to get core dumps? What is
the best way to diagnosis system crashes?

I am running OI 148

# uname -a
SunOS ernst 5.11 oi_148 i86pc i386 i86pc Solaris

2011-04-20 Thread ken mays
Hi Ryo,

There is no official Intel 6250 Wifi support yet for OpenIndiana.

The Intel iwl and BSD iwn driver supports this card.

I've tested the iwp driver..but needs work.

Hi, Ken

Thank you for your reply.
I understand the situation.

If you have any test items, please let me know.
My thinkpad x100e has Intel 6250 wifi card.

This is very weird. I am posting repeated messages from the list (using
different providers), and not seeing them, either sent to my address or on
the email archive. Argh...

Re: [OpenIndiana-discuss] CIFS slow reads but fast writes

2011-04-20 Thread Dan Swartzendruber

This is truly odd. I have replied several times with real info, and the
posts do not get through, but I send a test one and it does :( Anyway, it
seems to be protocol related, as nfs reads are about 70MB/sec, twice what
either cifs or samba are doing...
