[okular] [Bug 435379] New: Does not show TSA timestamp signature
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435379 Bug ID: 435379 Summary: Does not show TSA timestamp signature Product: okular Version: 20.12.3 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: PDF backend Assignee: okular-devel@kde.org Reporter: antonis.tsolomi...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Does not show TSA timestamp signature STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Sign a pdf document with jsignpdf have enabled timestamping (TSA). Say from the freetsa.org. Click TSA timestamp on the first jsignpdf screen 2. In the resulting window enable TSA timestamping with server https://freetsa.org/tsr and hash method SHA-512 3. Sign the document OBSERVED RESULT The signed pdf opens in Okular and shows the user signature but there is no indication that there is a TSA timestamp EXPECTED RESULT PDF signature must show that the time is not the time of the user's computer but that of the TSA server. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I am not sure if there is ANY linux tool, even commandline, that can check a TSA timestamp. I have tried pdfsig on the commandline. No help. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.

[okular] [Bug 435246] Okular Crashing While Opening pdf file with annotations
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=435246 --- Comment #7 from Jason Liam --- I think i accidentally reproduced the bug. I had previously backed up my pdf file. I remember that when i downloaded the original pdf file from web (without any annotations) it was of size 50 MB. Also my backedup up pdf file (with annotations) is around 67 MB. So no after downloading the backed up file(67 MB) i started adding annotations in it. When this file reached around 67.8 MB i clicked Ctrl+S to save the file. But for some reason my Ubuntu 18.04 started freezing and the file was not saved(which i can see from the * shown at the top). So i had to close okular midway with unsaved changes. Next, after closing okular i tried to open the pdf but to my surprise when the pdf opened, all of its pages were blank. The second thing i noticed was that the same pdf was now of size 50MB instead of 67MB. So i do not know why the pdf got smaller in size(around its original size) and had all of its pages blank. This could be the fault of freezing up of the PC or an okular bug. I have no idea. Maybe if there's a way to debug okular so that i can see what happens when i click Ctrl+S , that can shed some light on this. Is there a way to use okular from command line. I know that i can use the command okular somedpdf.pdf to open the pdf in okular. But this command does not give much info about what happens when i click Ctrl+S. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
Using Ocular engine in educational commercial software?
Hi! I have idea for educational application. This app will be similar to SuperMemo (periodic card based reminder). Essential is high quality and durability of content. So I want to use vector based file format in order to be free of increased DPI in the future. I know that in advent of KDE5 its developers make huge mind step and make tons of specialized libraries in order to allow people using them in they apps. So I want to use Ocular engine. This brings to me few questions: 1. Is this possible in theory? 2. Is it possible for commercial project? 3. How should I start? Can you give me some hints what core libs are named? What Ocular libs are used for? 4. Where is the best source of developer information? 5. Can I expect that KDE Ocular libs will be works (at least in theory) on WinDos, MacOS, Tablets (with Android and IOS)? Please don't mid that I am greedy. I am aware that good things will be better when I pay for them. So two years ago I start annually pay for use full software (for example in the end of 2020 I donate KDE and Kubutnu about 50$ each, among other opensource projects). This fund can be raised when my income from open source will also raised. I think this is honest and sensible approach. Thanks in advance and best regards! Energo Koder

They appear identical although they are not. This is a screenshot showing the two other files opened on okular. They appear to be identical. However the file with the freetsa.org timestamp should somehow show that the creation time is verified by the freetsa.org timestamp authority and not by the user's computer clock.
