Why is this Site so Slow to Load?
http://www.trademe.co.nz It's a popular local ebay-type auction site, but as the months go by it's getting slower to load... 53sec. Hogs the computer all the while. Any thoughts? Brian -- Auckland NEW ZEALAND

Loads in about 4 seconds here on broadband - there are a lot of images, which would probably be very slow to download on dial-up connection, though. -- Brian Howlett -- Windows has detected that the mouse has been moved. Mine loads in 4.3 if I've already looked at the site and issued a refresh. Broadband speed to my RiscPC is 2.3Mb/s according to sod.ms/fast but its really up at just over 7Mb/s on the XP machine next to it. Phil -- [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Run NetSurf and test http://www.trademe.co.nz again If the page loads for more quickly now, the slow down is due to a cookies issue. Remember to quit NetSurf before restoring your old Cookies file. If the slowdown was caused by cookies, you should be able to speed up loading of the page by opening the cookies manager (Iconbar menu > Open > Show cookies...) and deleting some some of the cookies for the domain in question.
