Where to buy Internet IP addresses

2009-05-01 Thread LEdouard Louis
Optimum Online business only offer 5 static IP address.

Where can I buy a block of Internet IP address for Business? How much
does it cost?

Most of our devices only require an internal IP address to reach the
internet, but we have a Juniper DX for load balancing.

We must provide Juniper DX with an internet IP address and point it to
internal IP address for customers to be able to reach it from the
internet. this is for testing and development purposes and will expect
several servers on Load-balancer. The 5 static IP addresses just won't
be enough.

Thanks in advance

Louis

how much is Optimum Online charging you for each of the five?

practically, you can not buy IP addresses. you can buy companies

who have the right to use IP addresses (hard), or you can go to
ARIN and justify your own "right to use" (not as hard, but then
you have to deal w/ your ISP accepting routes for them), -OR-
switch ISPs.

if you are willing to wait for a while (12-18 months) - rumors
are
that folks might be able to swap/trade their IP space IRU's
fairly
easily... but thats just a rumor at the moment. Check the ARIN
meeting minutes for the SAT mtg last week.

RE: anyone knows about extreme switch

2009-02-13 Thread LEdouard Louis
We use Extreme products, but use telnet or SSH behind firewall.

Can you use telnet? It provide more flexibility, but SSH is more secure

Regardless of the connection the CLI configuration is the same.

HyperTerminal setting?

Baud rate-9600
Data bits-8
Stop bit-1
Parity-None
Flow control-XON/XOFF

Cable: Null-Modem RS-232 (9 pin to 25 pin)

Good luck!

Loop Start T1 through PBX from Dialogic card

2010-02-05 Thread LEdouard Louis
(Anyone) familiar with configuring a Loop Start T1 through a PBX from a
Dialogic card? I've got it to see the T, it talks, it initiates calls,
but they don't connect completely. Incoming calls just ring and ring but
the software shows connection.

Thoughts on troubleshooting?

Thanks in advance

Louis

Intel 10Gb on VMware (AMD) ESX 4.0 intermittent problem

2010-02-19 Thread LEdouard Louis
Has anyone experience problems using Intel 10 Gb NIC on VMware (AMD) ESX
4.0?

Some VM's are experiencing intermittent network drop issues even though
the actual VM is online. The VM are unable to ping out or respond to
ping and sometime unable to ping VM-to-Vm on the same physical server.

The problem is only on some VM's on the same ESX host. We move the vms
to another ESX 4.0 with same Intel 10 GB card, the problem is resolve,
but return days later with same VM at new location.

The Intel 10 GB has VMDQ features was not sure if that is part of the
problem.

Thanks in advance
