2003-08-18 Thread john kyari
 Dear friend,
 Compliment of the day, I am JOHN KYARI, The son of late General Kubwa Kyari of the
Democratic Republic of Congo.
 My father was a General in the Congolese Army. In his position (My father) with the
office of the presidentcy during the regime of Laurent kabila, he was assigned on a
secret mission to source and acquire arms internationally in order to strengthen the
Government forces against the rebels, which already had the support of Rwandan and
Uganda Army.
 Meanwhile, he was still negotiating for the purchase of the arms, he received on the
16th January 2001 news of the assassination of Laurent Kabila which force him to call
off the assignment and deposited the sum of US$12.5M, Packed in a diplomatic case in
a private security company in the Hague, the Netherlands, though he registered the
content as precious stones while the real content is (US12.5M) meant for the purchase
of arms for the Congolese Army. My father went home for the funeral of the late
president, but on his arrival he was arrested, detained and tortured, unfortunately
my father suffer cardiac arrest and died on the 17th of March 2001. However,one of
our
numerous visits, my mother and I paid him while in prison, my father was able to
reveal this secret to me and advice that i should proceed to the Netherlands to claim
the money, he handed me all the relevant documents that
will enable me claim the box from the security company.Already, I have made my first
visit to the security company and the document entitled to clearthis money is with a
finance security company in Holland.
 On our arrival in the Netherlands few months ago, we sought for  political asylum;
which was granted. My mother and I are making frantic effort on the best way to
handle this money. We sought advice from an attorney who advised
that we must seek for a trustworthy foreign business partner whom can invest this fund
in a profitable venture. This we view as the best option because our refugee status
dose not permit us to operate a bank account, hence we seek your assistance and hope
you could be trusted.
 I got your contact from the commercial section of the congolese embassy in Belgium.
Meanwhile, I sincerely ask for your assistance to get this money through your account,
Your share for assisting us will be 25% of the totalsum, 5% will be use for upsetting
all the expenses incurred in the courseof concluding this venture and the remaining
70% that will be for me and my family. Also you stand to gain from any investment you
might introduce us into after the conclusion of the transfer.
 Please keep this confidential until we finalize and get this money into your account
for security reasons.
 This is my e-mail address you can reach me:([EMAIL PROTECTED])
 Thanks and GOD bless.

Module submission XML::SAX::Context

2003-08-18 Thread Perl Authors Upload Server

The following module was proposed for inclusion in the Module List:

  modid:   XML::SAX::Context
  DSLIP:   ampOp
  description: XML::SAX::Base sub-class giving context info
  userid:  MIROD (Michel Rodriguez)
  chapterid:   11 (String_Lang_Text_Proc)
  communities:

  similar:
XML::SAX::Context is a subclass of XML::SAX::Base, it can be used
anywhere XML::SAX::Base is used, but adds some power to it

  rationale:

When using SAX I find myself often storing the parsing context, so
my handlers can know where they are in the document. This module
does it, and gives a few methods to access this context.

How is this different from a tied hash? In what situations is it
useful?

Re: Module submission Class::Hash

2003-08-18 Thread Andrew Sterling Hanenkamp
It's all (more or less) syntactic sugar. I don't necessarily think it
provides any value beyond notation. It just removes the extra noise of
the curly braces. For my purposes, this is value enough. However, I
figured that if I was going to add a module I might as well give it some
additional functionality besides simply adding an lvalued AUTOLOAD that
might make it even more generally valuable. So, I added the ability to
use (or not) a bunch of helper methods that look more or less like the
tied interface of a hash. Some might prefer:

 $hash->clear;

to:

 %$hash = ();

This class lets you do both, if you turn on the clear method--by default
$hash->clear will just return the value of $hash->{clear}. That is, if
you don't like the additional methods, you don't turn them on. If you
like the additional methods, but you aren't real fond of the named
accessors using AUTOLOAD, turn the methods and the accessors off. Still
further, if something has been turned off and you still want to use the
functionalty use the Class::Hash syntax or use the hash directly. I
think this module just takes hashes to a new level of TMTOWTDI.

Cheers,
Sterling

Module submission perl5lib

The following module was proposed for inclusion in the Module List:

  rationale:

Placing this in the root namespace name was suggested by Ilya
Zakharevich, I would never have been so presumptuous myself :-).

Currently pragmas seem to be in generally in the root namespace so
I would be breaking with convention to do otherwise. However, if it
is felt that a root namespace name is not justified I'd be just as
happy to see this as lib::perl5lib

This module addresses a common need amongst those people who
develop modules and CGI scripts on shared servers. Because of the
nature of this module it would be really good to see it get into
Development Stage "S". A module that allows users to access their
own module diretory is not too useful unless it's in the system-wide
module directory.

RFC: lack of registrations

2003-08-18 Thread Darren Duncan
I have noticed that practically nothing submitted to the modules list has been
registered in the last few months, where as prior to that there were typically a dozen
new modules each week.

Does anyone know the reasons for this? Have the registrars taken an extended leave,
or are they focusing instead on the backend coding for nntp.x.perl.org?

I think that there are quite a few people now who are wanting to know.

Also, would it be practical to authorize extra people to do registrations?

It allows the usual vector operations (dot product, cross product),
plus some operations in analytical geometry (calculating normal

that calculates the vector necessary to bring an arbitrary number of
vectors into equilibrium. I believe this can be a very useful module
