Namespace request
Hi there, I want to release some of my modules to CPAN. Curently I'm working on a project to monitor weather data. Im Using a serial device called WS 2000 to collect data from wireless sensors (up to 16). Until now I've finished the module for the lowlevel comunication with the device. The module for analysing colleted data is already working, but not finished. I'ld like to release the modules as Device::WS2000::IO and Device::WS2000::Data Please let me know whether there are any problems with these names, if so please suggest other names thanks /\/\ichael

Re: New module XML::NamespaceSupport
Hi Pause Team! Thanks for adding this module, it'll make a few things easier later. I'd like to reiterate my offer for help in assigning/accepting module data to the list. I understand that it's slow because people are busy, and that not anyone can be trusted to help (so I understand if you'd turn help down). It's just that if there's a way in which I can help, I'd love to. I certainly owe it to the community ;) Take care, -- Robin Berjon <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -- I'm not a complete idiot - some parts are missing!

This perl module solves that problem. I think rjray is also doing some work with getting RPM to work with Perl. Are you aware of his efforts? I think your module may do something similar, but I confess I didn't look into his work a great deal. Cheers, Philip
Re: Module submission RPM::Make
Dear Sir Phillip: http://search.cpan.org/search?mode=module&query=rpm I have already downloaded rjray's software (as well as veltzer's). >From what I can see, the RPM-Tools software is unique in its method of making RPMs and checking against an FTP/NFS repository (well at least we can update outside of RedHat network). (Believe me, if there had been really good perl software that existed for that a couple years ago, I would have jumped at the opportunity to use it.) I am also very confident about the functionality of my software (it works reliably and works well with a reasonable range of possible options). The current versions that I posted could greatly benefit from a better API. For instance, I can foresee RPM::Update working with rjray's RPM::Database. And, the subroutine name "execute" could ummm ... be better. However, in light of the RPM version 3 to version 4 transition I am hesitant to trust the RPM /var/lib/ databases beyond what the command-line usage delivers. I am very much delighted to collaborate, cooperate, see my work digested by the jaws of another programmer, etc. I am also trying to get together some DPKG-ing perl modules. I want to build my software packages in a one-line command! And, update them in a controllable one-line command! And incorporate that simplicity in a bigger effort... http://lpml.sourceforge.net/. Such is my rambling from over here at least. I do foresee myself actively curating this freeware, so in terms of delegated effort, maybe it makes sense for RPM-Tools to be a separate CPAN package for a while. Module submission Authen::Krb5::Easy
The following module was proposed for inclusion in the Module List: modid: Authen::Krb5::Easy DSLIP: bdcfp description: Easy krb5 client interface using krb libs. userid: SCHALLEE (Ed Schaller) chapterid: 14 (Security_and_Encryption) communities: [EMAIL PROTECTED], Author of Authen::Krb5 (bounced) similar: Authen::Krb5 rationale: This is a library to easily get client authentication for kerberos connections. It is different than Authen::Krb5 in that it is heigher level and that Authen::Krb5 does not support client authentication. The extension Easy was chosen because it closely mimics the kerberos command line utilities, but interfaces directly with the kerberos c libraries for speed. I see this module being especially useful for automated and cgi scripts that need to authenticate using kerberos to service such as a database. enteredby: SCHALLEE (Ed Schaller) enteredon: Wed Apr 17 23:52:20 2002 GMT The resulting entry would be: Authen::Krb5:: ::Easybdcfp Easy krb5 client interface using krb libs.
