Module submission GFL

2002-03-12 Thread Perl Authors Upload Server

The following module was proposed for inclusion in the Module List:

  modid:   GFL
  DSLIP:   bdhfp
  description: low level wrapper for Graphic File Library
  userid:  GGARAND (Germain Garand)
  chapterid:   18 (Images_Pixmaps_Bitmaps)
  communities:
comp.lang.perl.modules

  similar:
GD Image::Magick

  rationale:

GFL is the name of the cross-platform C library for which this
module is a wrapper - it stands for Graphic File Library - see
www.xnview.org It is similar to GD, but with a stress put on the
very high number of exotic graphic formats supported (more than
300).

Thus this proposal to adopt the same naming scheme than GD :

GFL -> low-level wrapper GFL::Image -> high-level Object Oriented
wrapper which inherits the above.

This structure seems the most relevant as it is coherent with the
inheritance scheme. Moreover, it seems unlikely that a three letters
capitalized acronym like this one could clash with future root names
as there are 26^3 = 17576 other 3 letters combinations. At last, GFL
is actively developped since 2 years and is likely to gain a large
fame as a "swiss-knife" for image importation.

  enteredby:   GGARAND (Germain Garand)
  enteredon:   Tue Mar 12 09:14:12 2002 GMT

The resulting entry would be:

GFL bdhfp low level wrapper for Graphic File Library GGARAND

I would like to contribute a couple of simple (but useful) modules which can

database ones), as well as some scripts for online services such as bulletin
boards and link checkers.

Many thanks,

PAUSE ID request

2002-03-12 Thread Andy Settle

According to: http://www.cpan.org/modules/04pause.html

I need to submit the following information for a PAUSE ID...

Name:   Andy Settle
email:  [EMAIL PROTECTED]
home:   http://www.journeyman.net/
userid: ICENI

I have a number of modules which I would like to present for
submission to CPAN. Initially I'd like to submit a POSIX process pool
management module - which is pretty self explanatory. Others to
follow.

Namespace Registration: Krb5::

2002-03-12 Thread Dave Steiner

While I'm waiting for my CPAN user ID, I'd like to register a new namespace
for Kerberos5, namely Krb5::. I'm working on some new modules for parsing
the Kerberos database called Krb5::KDB (this loads various other modules like
Krb5::KDB::V2, Krb5::KDB::V3, Krb5::KDB::V4 or Krb5::KDB::V5).

Krb5::KDB  adpO  Parse the Kerberos5 database   ???

BTW, it's been about a month now since I sent off my request for a
CPAN user ID. How long is that taking these days?

thanks,
ds
