Yes, but no error is reported. The page works as if the link was just
"page.html" instead of "page.html?foo=bar&baz=1", but the access-log has
the whole link.

Nobody seems to have asked you yet, but could you give some insight
into your httpd.conf and handler routine? It might help, certainly
if the accesslog is showing it all.

Hi Slava,

And above all of that, horrors of all horrors, you have posted private

Good luck with your job hunt, but a few lessons in netiquette are in

Dear Haroon and Jonathan,

I like Christmas. It's the time when miracles used to happen in the

We have nothing to discuss here. The story was not about the job; It was
about a Christmas miracle that you might see/believe or not.

I'm curious now. You posted an off-topic message on a mod_perl mailing
list that:

1. Demonstrated how rude you were to another person.
2. Revealed private correspondence on a public mailing list.

You then describe this as, "It was about a Christmas miracle that you
might see/believe or not."

Where is the Christmas miracle? You can reply privately, if you like.

ANNOUNCE: Mason 1.25

2003-12-12 Thread Dave Rolsky
1.25  December 12, 2003

[ BUG FIXES ]

- CGIHandler did not support $m->flush_buffer or autoflush. Reported
by Shane McCarron.
- Every line in the error stacktrace had a 'g' appended to it in HTML
error mode.
- The HTML error display of the stacktrace was not filtering out some
packages that it should have, so there were extra lines that made it
harder to find the real error.
- Several FakeApache methods were broken: path_info, uri, and
the_request. Reported by Matthias F. Brandstetter.

[ ENHANCEMENTS ]

- The CGIHandler request object now supports the autoflush parameter.

[mp2] CGI.pm patch

2003-12-12 Thread Michael Peppler
I ran into the same (or a similar) problem that Scott Beuker reported
with CGI.pm truncating POST content in an mp2 setup. In my case the POST
was truncated at around 7500 bytes. A check with tcpdump shows that the
entire POST is correctly sent to apache.

I started by upgrading CGI.pm to the latest release (3.01), but that
didn't fix it.

Looking through the archives I saw a patch posted by Stas. Here's my
version of that patch, that appears to fix that problem.

*** CGI.pm~ 2003-12-12 15:09:45.0 -0800
--- CGI.pm 2003-12-12 15:12:29.0 -0800
***
*** 551,558
}

if ($meth eq 'POST') {
!$self->read_from_client(\$query_string,$content_length,0)
!if $content_length > 0;
 # Some people want to have their cake and eat it too!
 # Uncomment this line to have the contents of the query string
 # APPENDED to the POST data.
--- 551,565
}

if ($meth eq 'POST') {
!  if($content_length > 0) {
!my $len = $content_length;
!while ($len > 0) {
!  my $data = '';
! my $read =
$self->read_from_client(\$data,$content_length,0);
!  $len -= $read;
!  $query_string .= $data if $read > 0;
!}
!  }
 # Some people want to have their cake and eat it too!
 # Uncomment this line to have the contents of the query string
 # APPENDED to the POST data.

Well, finally I see that the number of serious people on the list is
much more than I expected initially. I'm really sorry for being
bothering you Guys. It was just a funny Christmas story initially, and I
included the full listing of negotiations just in order to ensure reader
that the story is not a fake. It was never implied to provide full
"flight analysis" for this situation on the list. Indeed, I can explain
every my word providing the proof of my innocence on every stage of
those negotiations.

Why are you blaming me with the offensive behavior that ruined the
negotiations? I have no clue. All business negotiations were already
over after the first response of the Lady. That was her first response,
which was offensive and stupid. She did not hesitate to provide a lie
about my experience as the basis for discarding my application in the
message addressed directly to me. Could you imagine this happening with
you?

I never deal with mafia, criminals and idiots; That's my rule, and I do
no excuses based on race, gender, and/or nationality/ethnicity of the
party. I'm extremely serious about that. (That's why I decided to leave
Russia one day in the past.)

Back again, since the arrival of the first response from the Lady I was
not interested anymore in approaching this position. I've been wondering
about the Lady's business only. How good would it be for her client to
receive the falsified information about the prospective employees? Why
does it happen in her office? Chances were that the Lady was just
unaware about some internal problems with her helpers. At the time when
all Americans united stand against the World of Terra I could not just
resist from helping the poor Lady.

So far, I gave her the last one more chance in order to open her eyes,
to double-check her office procedures, and to provide me with clear and
unambiguous answer on my key question that I'm always so concerned
about. And so she did, didn't she?

That's what I call "miracle"...

Thanks for your attention,

Slava

re initialize a namespace

2003-12-12 Thread Chris Ochs
I am using CGI.pm with mod perl, and simply because I hate using
$q->param('var') I use $q->import_names('CGI') so I can reference the post
variables as $CGI::var. CGI.pm does not clear this namespace and I am not
sure of the best way to clear an entire namespace. Any ideas?
