[Mjpeg-users] mjepgtools, deinterlaced performance

2007-12-28 Thread Heiko Harlfinge
Hi,
I am just using the program Kino (http://www.kinodv.org),
because these program is using mjpetools I asking here.

I installed my new laptop (intel core 2 duo, 2GHz) with mjpegtool
1.9.0rc2-60 and had to figure out, that exporting a video with
yuvdeinterlaced need about 20% more time, than my old one (mjpegtools
1.8, intel centrino 1,6GHz)???

Is there anything I should change? Thanks for hints.

(OS Suse10.3)

Yes, there's definately a bug in mpeg2enc rate control at the moment. It
probably relates to some tweaks recently added to improve the way the encoder
looks ahead to make good use of available buffer capacity to avoid
unnecessarily reducing quality for short spikes in picture content.

cheers,

Andrew
