AsiaBSDCon 2023 Call for Papers

2022-12-22 Thread Hiroki Sato
Hello,

AsiaBSDCon 2023 is now accepting papers and tutorial proposals. The
submission deadline has been extended to 28 December. This deadline's
timezone is "the end of the day hasn't been reached yet if the day is
valid somewhere on earth." If you need more time for some reason,
please reach out secret...@asiabsdcon.org.

The next AsiaBSDCon will be an in-person event. While it will also
offer live streaming and virtual attendance options, the organizing
team is trying hard to revive this as a face-to-face meeting place.

You can find more details about AsiaBSDCon and the past conferences at
https://www.asiabsdcon.org. I am looking forward to seeing you in
Tokyo again.

I cleaned up the repository on allbsd.org and resync from the
upstream. The files in question were left for some reason. Probably
 it was the cause.

If anyone noticed this (or similar) problem persisted, please let me
 know.

Updates on AsiaBSDCon 2025

2025-01-31 Thread Hiroki Sato
Hi,

This is an announcement for *BSD community members that AsiaBSDCon
2025 was canceled[*]. Although this may disappoint you, the severe
financial situation did not work out as well as we expected. Because
of the negative impact, it was a challenging choice. However, this is
not intended to shut down this conference series completely. A
recovery plan has been posted as a full announcement. If you are
interested in helping, please reach out to the committee.

[*] https://lists.asiabsdcon.org/pipermail/announce/2025-January/46.html

For people who have already bought a ticket to Tokyo, a get-together
event on March 21 and 22 is planned. It will be smaller than a full
conference, but you can meet with local BSD people. If you are in
Japan and interested in it, please pencil in the dates. The details
of this will be posted to annou...@asiabsdcon.org mailing list.
