[MlMt] 5by5

2013-10-31 Thread Eric Beavers
If there are any 5by5 jackals in the room, you know Dan Benjamin does a
mean ad read. Get one of the alpha nerds hooked on MailMate and they
will sing its praises until everyone HAS to buy it.

Seriously, if I had an awesome indie app that had gotten huge kudos from
major publications, I would be targeting my fellow nerds with
advertising on the 5by5 podcast network. Dan Benjamin. Merlin Mann.
Brett Terpstra. Andy Ihnatko. The list goes on as long as my, well, my
arm.

Their ads are from Smile Software, Squarespace, OmniGroup, Hover.com,
and more. They are *nailing* your demographic. Good people who love to
talk at length about the intricacies, foibles, and workflows around
email and productivity. These are *our people.* They may be able to help
where others cannot.

I don't work for http://5by5.tv and make nothing from this other than
seeing two entities I want to see succeed enjoy a symbiotic relationship
that benefits them both.

Good luck!

[MlMt] Folders, but no messages after clean install

2014-01-29 Thread Eric Beavers
I recently finished a clean installation of the latest Mavericks. Of course,
MailMate was one of the first to go back on my machine. After loading up all of
my accounts I see all of my folders (directories, labels, whatever), but none
of the messages.

It appears SMTP is sending mail, although the jury is still out on that one
(your honor, if it pleases the court, I tender this message as exhibit “B").
All of the trouble seems to be on the IMAP side of things.

There is even a variety to choose from: Google Apps Gmail, iCloud, and hosted
email service. Any ideas how I can revive my messages? Everything seems to work
in Apple Mail.app.

Confused,

Did not migrate. No messages in subfolders other than a few recent drafts of
outgoing messages that did not appear to go anywhere. Still tinkering.

Could this be a security certificate issue? Not sure why that would matter when
one client works while another does not. Trying to think…

Still thinking…
