Tornado warning! (get away from windows)
I have a state-issue pc running windows 7, but I switched to the mac this January so I could stop worrying about upgrading jaws, but I can't seem to get away from windows completely. This is disappointing. I really just want one computer. I know I can run windows on a mac, but that would completely defeat the purpose of me buying one. I'm having two major problems 1) I occasionally use kurzweil 1000, and I really wish i could find a suitable replacement for mac that does all the stuff the the K1000 does. 2) My internet experience with safari (as well as other browsers on the Mac) has, upon reflection, been rather poor. I realize that flash doesn't work as well on a mac, and that's ok. My problem is that sites simply don't load very fast. I have other computers in my home that load sites very quickly. Sometimes I will wait 30 seconds only for the "safari can't load website" message, but when I try again, the page loads. One site in particular (www.rae.es) won't load AT ALL, no matter if I clear the cache, reset safari, or even use other browsers on the mac. This same site loads problem free on my pc using the same connection. When I try to get there on my mac, I just get the search suggestions page from my ISP. accessing this site is indispensable for my education. I'm also having trouble finding high-quality, cheap Spanish voices. I know Cepstral makes some, but I don't like them. any suggestions. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. Re: Tornado warning! (get away from windows)
Now I'm interested in the text-to-mp3 thing in iTunes. I did a quick help search and nothing came up. To whoever suggested that I may ha a problem with DNS. Is there a way to fix that? (and please, don't tell me to google "dns". I hate it when people do that. On Jul 28, 8:14 pm, Chris Moore wrote: > Are the infovox voices no good? good spanish voices for voiceover
I'm looking for a good spanish voice for voiceover. It's a tad frustrating that ios has a spanish voice built in but os x doesn't Any suggestions for voices that are cheap but good? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. I think I may have made a $99 mistake...
I preordered the apple tv back on September 13th and it just arrived today, but in that one month I've actually lost a noticeable amount of vision. Should I hold out for voiceover if it's even coming to apple tv? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. braille display help
I have a degenerative eye condition, so I'm really feeling the need to improve my braille skills, but I've reached a catch 22. I have a hunch that getting a braille display will improve my reading by opening up much much more content to read, but on the other hand, my reading speed is so slow, that it's hard to justify paying 3-4 thousand dollars for a braille display. I'm also left handed, which i think contributes to a poor reading speed. Any suggestions, do I shell out that much money and risk not using the display, or do i continue to read the 2 or 3 books I have in the hopes of improvement? braille display
Actually, if my reading speed were 50 words per minute, i could get the state government here in Texas to buy one for me, but that's the whole stalemate thing. I don't improve my reading speed because there's nothing good to read, I could undoubtedly improve it with a braille display, but I don't think I can afford to buy one myself. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group.
