Using Google Music Manager
Hi everyone, I've been doing some research and I finally decided I wanted to try uploading all my iTunes music up to Google using the Music Manager program from the Play Store. I know others have made this work but now that I've tried it out I'm wondering if any of them were on the Mac. Everything needs to be done in Google Music Manager but when I open it up I only hear "Unknown" over and over. VO can't read any part of the program. Does anyone have any tips or solutions? Thanks and take care! Mike -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. VST Effects in AMadeus Pro
Hi everyone, I downloaded some VST effects but I'm having some issues actually finding them. I know originally there was a VST menu option in the effects tab but long ago I checked a box to hide that...I've been looking everywhere and can't figure out how to turn it back on. Any ideas? Re: adding people to a conference call?
I do this all the time. I call the each of them one at a time from my contact list. All I do is scroll to the name and press VO space. Once the call connects I go back to the list and VO space on the next person. There might be another way of doing it but I’ve never had an issue doing it this way. Let me know if it works for you. Mars Edit Got Me Blacklisted
Hey fellow Mars Edit Users, When I got a little free time a few hours ago I opened Mars Edit to make a change to one of my pages at malarsie.com. When I finished the changes I hit send and got an alert saying my password was wrong for some odd reason. I typed it in and hit send. It didn’t work. Twice. When I went to my site on the browser I got an alert saying that my IP address had been blacklisted and that I need to contact my service provider if I thought it was a mistake. After some googling I called my hosting provider and after a few questions and some digging they asked how I manage my site to which the answer is Mars Edit for the most part. Turns out that for some reason or another Mars Edit had made a series of calls to the server. Like hundreds in just a minute or two. My hosting provider took this as malicious action and blocked me. They fixed it without any problems but I wanted to find out if anyone else had experienced or heard of anything like this before. Hope you all have a good day! Wordpress Webinar for the Blind
Hi everyone! I’m setting up a webinar for Wordpress from an accessibility standpoint and I wanted to let you know about it. This is for people who have been wanting to set a Wordpress site up and haven’t, or who have and didn’t make it very far. I’m running two sites and have been using Wordpress daily for around two years now so a lot of what will be taught are things learned from experience. This won’t cover PHP, HTML, CSS, or anything advanced like that. This is mainly to get people started. There are only 6 slots left in the January course so if you might be interested follow this link for the full details and info on how you can reserve your spot. Feel free to email me off list if you have any other questions. http://htb2.com/2013/12/wordpress-a-to-z-for-the-blind-and-visually-impaired/ Have a great night! Last Pass Stealing VO focus
Seasons greetings fellow Mac users! I’ve been using Last Pass quite successfully for about a week now on my iMac and Macbook Air. It’s working good but for some reason, only on the Air, it steals the VO focus once every few minutes if Safari is open. Even if Safari is in the background it will bring the window to the front and interrupt whatever I’m doing. The focus ends up in the normal Last Pass window where I can view my saved info. It’s driving me crazy and only does it on my Air, not on the iMac. Any ideas? Mac and IOS Tutorials
Hey all, I am cross posting this to both Mac and iPhone lists. I have just launched a new section on my website which consists of short to the point guides and tutorials on Mac and IOS. There are almost 20 recordings you can listen to right on the website and as of now, since it's so new, focus on mainly beginner topics. These recordings are separate from the podcast, which has a new RSS feed and therefore new iTunes listing. So if you have subscribed to it in the past, sorry but you have to do it again. Just search How to be Blind in iTunes or Downcast and you will find it. I will constantly be adding to the tutorial pages with more advanced topics once the beginner ones are knocked out. App reviews will start as well if your into that. I am trying to build a good resource for the blind and visually impaired so if you have feedback please share it with me off list. To visit my tutorial page you can click this link http://htb2.com/tutorials/ To visit the How to be Blind homepage just go to www.htb2.com Thanks everyone! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "MacVisionaries" group. Re: Mac and IOS Tutorials
I have done that in the past but since I have a podcast that covers much more than just IOS and Mac I wanted to start these lists on my own website. These are tutorials that people won't have to search a database for, at least until I gets huge, which is a while away. Podcast issues. Need tips
Hey podcasters. So I have been publishing podcasts regularly with wordpress on htn2.com. I just tried to post our 39th episode and did everything the same as I normally do. I write up the post then embed the link into it. This has worked reliably for months until now. Now when I check in Downcast it says that there is no media found but the rest of the article is there. I know it works because you can listen to it form the website but not in Downcast. It won't even show up in iTunes since for some reason the media isn't working. Any ideas on how to troubleshot and fix this problem? I have no idea what has changed since the 7th of December which ws when the lest show went up without a hitch. Thanks and Merry Christmas! Anyone have Terminal tricks and resources?
Calling all geeks! I have been digging around and trying to heather resources to teach myself how to use Terminal. I have learned some basics but wanted to put out some feelers and see if you guys had some resources that you could recommend. Re: Other Mainstream Mac Lists
I wish I knew of some as well. I created a new one just the other day that includes more than just the Mac and I am hoping to grow into a beast like this one but we shall see. I spent some time in Google Groups trying to find some good ones but I hate their new layout. Trying to go anything is rather difficult. Re: Accessible Audio Editing Software for Mac OS10
Hello, I use it for all of the editing I do for my podcast at htb2.com. It works very well and is really simple to use. garage Band wil also work but Amadeus Pro is much easier. If you want I can send you a little recording of how it works. Mike On Nov 8, 2012, at 1:28 PM, Daniel C wrote: > Good day list, > I do podcasting, and normally use Windows to edit my podcasts. Brandon, I am very new to this and only know a little like how to change directors as well as simple commends like LS . I am reading through a book in iBooks about uNix but was wondering if you know of a place I can get a simple list of more of the basic commands. I am flying blind her win more tha one way. Podcasters Unite!
To all the pod caters in this list. I want to see who would be interested in doing a show together. This can be a one time gig or a monthly thing but I have been thinking that since there are so many podcasters in this list it might be cool for us all to link up and do a show together. Re: Podcasters Unite!
Outstanding, Ok so this is what I am thinking… We all should try to schedule a time to meet up on Skype and nail out some minor detaild like, well, what the show will be about. I am sure it won't be hard to choose a topic that we can all agree on but we can get into details when we all talk. My schedule is pretty open so I am flexible. Let's try to pick a date for sometime next week and talk. I will just throw Tuesday out there and see what happens. Looking forward to it. Google Plus?
Hey everyone, I just created a Google Plus profile because I have haeard that it's [ossible ti invite multiple people to a hangout to voice chat then up to 100 people can just listen in to the others talking. Obviously as a podcaster this could be pretty helpful but I don't remember where I heard this and i can't seem to file anything that talks about it. True to typical google fashion things are strange to navigate through so I figured I would ask here since someone has most likely done this and knows a better way to do this. I appreciate the help. Re: Google Plus?
Hello, Good to know. I didn't want to waste the time to find out if someone else had already done it. That is the plan as of right now. The only other way I have heard it done is to have each person just record their own voice, then everyone sends it to the same person who then lines them all up in an editing program and then you have nice quality for everyone. the problem is that aligning the recordings correctly can be a pain and honestly this is much more work then it's worth with it comes to multiple people. We will make due with what we have and go from there. We'll talk more about this sort of thing tonight. I don't know if one is out yet but jailbreaking isn't as scary as people think. It you do it from a credible source everything will be fine. lifehacker.com has an always up to date guide where you can get a lot of information about jailbreaking. A little off topic. Wordpress.org themes
Hey all, I wanted to ask you who are familiar with wordpress.org themes what is good to look for as far as accessibility goes. I am new to this stuff and honestly don't even know what columns mean. Are those the permanent headings that don't scroll away? Anyway, I'm in the market for a new one and just wanted some advice. I know this isn't technically Mac related but this is the best place for answers with accessibility in mind. Thanks for any help!! Redeem iTunes gift cards with built in Mac camera
The title says it all. I am posting this to both the Mac and iPhone lists since parties in both may find this helpful. There is a feature in iTunes 11 that gives you the ability to redeem gift cards using the camera on the Mac. Sorry to any PC users out there, this is only supported on the Mac Check out a little more here. http://htb2.com/2012/11/29/redeem-itunes-giftcards-with-built-in-mac-camera/ Cheers!
