Reinstallation of Mavericks question

2014-02-21 Thread Christian
Hi all,
I have not been on this list for a very long time, so things have eventually
been changed.
I am trying to reinstall Mavericks on a Mac here, but I am just seeing the
message
signing in to the appstore with VoiceOver. However, there is a sign in dialog,
but I am not able to get to that. A sighted friend told me that there is one.
I am doing a clean install.
Any tips out there is really apreciated. many thanks!

A question about iPhone

2009-07-30 Thread Christian

Hi all,
i have just subscribed to this list and maybe this has already been asked but i
just want to know.
Tomorrow I am going to have a look at the iPhone. I have been using a Windows
mobile phone for some time now and have a few questions.
Is it possible to use the phones features without turning the actual phone on
like the calendar and so on?
Also, in the voicememo, is it possible to change recording format?
Many thanks,
Christian

My trip to see an iPhone with no success

2009-07-31 Thread Christian

Hi all!
OK, so today it was time for me to see and try the new iPhone.
I don't usually like these bigger stores due to their often lack of service I
have experienced so I usually prefer some smaller stores where I have some
contacts.
Anyway, I went to the big shopping center here. When I visited one store a few
days ago they toldme that they will have a demo unit to try today. But they did
not! They had already sold it and they told me to sign up on a waiting list.
OK, I went on to the next store. They had a unit, but they didn't want to open
the box! Only if I would purchase it they would other wise not. So no demo unit
there either.
Oh well, I went on to the third one. Bingo! They had a unit but I did not
remember the whole manual and when I got help from a friend of mine to turn
VoiceOver on, the phone asked me if I want to change the default gester. I
answered ok but then it was silent. I did not remember how to fix this so I
asked a representative in the store if I could sit down and try it for some
time maybe a ew hours and if i like it eventually buy it tomorrow. But they did
not want me to do that! They explained that we have this demo unit and we can
not let you try it that way.
So I told them ok you have lost a customer.
So now i am back home without having seen it that much!
Going to contact my store where i usually get help and service!
What do you think?
Best regards,
Christian

Hi Donna and all,
Yes, it's very frustrating especially when one of the stores told me that they
will have a demo unit available a few days ago.
But anyway, i at least heared the swedish voice and it sounded good. for about
five seconds.

Christian

If any of you changes your language to Swedish, is it possible for you to set

take it b phone. would anyone be intersted in doing this?

Iphone question

2009-08-09 Thread Christian

Hi all,
OK, so I managed to see the Iphone a bit more today.
A friend of mine helped me to start VoiceOver and then he pressed ok to confirm
the gesture change.
Later on the screen was black from what he told me but I suppose it's the
setting that will turn off the screen if VOiceOver is turned on.
Anyway, I managed to find out the status by tapping at the top left of the
screen and I was also able to mute and unmute speech with three fingers double
tap.
But I couldn't get out of the screen and also I managed to start some music
playback. I moved my fingers from left to right but not much happened. Will see
the ihone gain soon, any tips?
many thanks,
Christian

For those of you who have the iPhone with MMS support I have found a way to
have VOiceOver to stop speaking.
Try the following and see if you are able to duplicate it:
First, record a voice memo for about a minute or so.
Then, stop the recording and select to show recordings. Select the voice memo
that you just recorded and select to share it and MMS.
iPhone will then tell you that it's too long to be shared and asks if you want
to select a shorter version. Tap OK and you should get no speech when touching
the screen.
If pressing the home button and flicking to the left and right there is some
times no speech. Then flick up with two fingers and speech should be back.
Are you able to duplicate this?
Many thanks,
Christian

Turing off preview in Catalina Mail problem

2019-12-21 Thread Christian
Hi all,

I have turned off preview in mail, but VoiceOver keeps reading the message
content, but it is not shown on my braille display. This happens in the
message list. Has anyone else experienced this?
Best regards,
Christian

Re: Turing off preview in Catalina Mail problem

2019-12-22 Thread Christian
Hi,

I have written a message to Apple accessibility regarding this matter, since
everything that relates to preview is disabled on my side. No message preview
is showing up on the screen, so this must be related to VO itself. This did not
happen to me in previous version of OS X.
Many thanks,
Christian

How to obtain information about a size of a message in Catalina Mail

2019-12-30 Thread Christian
Hi all,

I am trying to find out how to obtain information about a message in Mail in
Mac OS, but I am not able to find out the message size. Any tips on how to do
that?
Many thanks,
Christian
