Activities are customized settings for voiceover for a particular application.
You can choose to have a different voice, punctuation or hotspots!

Re: updated windows issue with bootcamp and macbook pro 2012

2012-12-06 Thread Chris Bruinenberg
Hi Mike and all.
THank you for the wealth of information.
I have a copy of windows 7 32 and 64 bit opporating systems.
The weirdest part is when i'm finished installing windows and it comes to
installing the bootcamp driver disk, i got to setup and the installer says it
can not continue.
I remember with my old laptop from 2011, i could install bootcamps drivers just
fine.
Does anybody have any further ideas? i'm fairly sure that it isn't a windows
disk issue.
Also, when i look at the windows partition it isn't labeled boot camp.
Does this cause any problems?
I realize i can use vmware fusion but i need the extra ram and processing power
for programs for development.
THank you and i'm so sorry for the long email.

Re: windows 64 bit and bootcamp.

2012-12-06 Thread Chris Bruinenberg
Hi Phil.
I did the exact same thing but when i run the setup file, it says that bootcamp
has encountered an error and cant continue.
The only option is a finish button. One thing i have noticed is that the
bootcamp partition that is made is always just an unlabeled volume.
Could this be the reason?
Thanks.

I use this quite frequently, it works like a charm.

Your welcome.
You can always go to the app and press option command o to open.
That way you won't have to change the settings.
You only have to do it once.

locking the mac update

2013-01-04 Thread Chris Bruinenberg
Hi all.
A few weeks ago, i posted asking how to lock the mac.
A simular command seams to work for me and I thought I would share it.
It's similar to the windows+l command on windows where it locks your screen and
takes you to the log in window.
It's control+shift+eject.
Hope that is of interest to anybody.
Thanks.

Re: locking the mac update

2013-01-04 Thread Chris Bruinenberg
THat's crazy.
It is supposed to take you to the log-in window.
But if you have a password, it does the same thing.
I don't know, maybe it's not that cool but i've been looking for something
that would be similar to the windows+l command was with windows.
I always locked my computer, because i was working at a job where they would
fire you on the spot if you didn't lock it so i've gotten in a habit of doing
it. :)

pages question

Hi all.
I'm trying to force myself to use pages.
I'm reading a document that is about 300 pages long. Is there an easy way to
jump to a particular portion of the document?
Is there a way to search by page number?
Or even a way to use bookmarking?
Thanks for any help or tips.
Also, i still can't figure out how to double space a document.

Re: Windows Live! Messenger on Mac?

2013-01-09 Thread Chris Bruinenberg
Hi Mark.
The app i use is called adium.
It works really well. I know another alternative is Skype. I do prefer adium
however.
Note: it isn't in the app store. Jus toggle it and it will come up.
It's totally accessible as well.
Hope you enjoy your mac.

Re: How to help blind people new to Mac learn it as fast and smooth as possible

2013-01-09 Thread Chris Bruinenberg
Hi.
If you go to system preferences and under users and log-in options.
Hit the lock and type in your password.
Then you will see a checkbox that says use voiceover on the log-in screen.
I use a caps lock to vo modifier that works wonderfully to accomplish voiceover
commands.

Re: Dropbox acting up again.

2013-01-10 Thread Chris Bruinenberg
Now one thing you could try at least from what i remember when i had lion is do
everything from the context menu.
Go to the home directory and dropbox, find the folder or file you want to
share, and press vo+shift+m to go to the context menu.
Then look and see if there is a dropbox menu to share.

braille with vmware fusion

2013-01-11 Thread Chris Bruinenberg
Hi all.
So while the list has been on the subject of braille.
I have successfully paired my display within mac os.
Will i need to pair it within windows as well?
I wasn't sure because it virtualizes the hardware.
Maybe i'm not thinking of all the steps.
Thanks for any assistance.

THanks Chris.
I didn't think of that. Whever i plug in a usb hard drive it does that, asking

I shall play around with this.

Re: Synchronizing contacts between Google, iPhone and Nokias with Symbian S60

2013-01-11 Thread Chris Bruinenberg
Hi David.
One thing i tried and I'm not sure if this has worked all the way.
Since i have a mac, i used an app called google contacts sync it synced all my
contacts from gmail and my phone and computer.
I think the app cost 4 dollars.
I think the only way you can do this is to set up a google account on the phone
with mail, and a separate one with contacts.

Re: scanning applications

2013-01-12 Thread Chris Bruinenberg
Hi.
Thank you for the tip.
Was there an easy way to scan multiple documents at once?
I tried a demo of it and it wouldn't let me scan multiple pages.
Also, it didn't seam to work with my canon scanner very well.
Thanks.

Re: Running slow with Mountain Lion

2013-01-14 Thread Chris Bruinenberg
This sounds a little weird.
I'd try a clean install and see if that fixes anything.
Good luck.
