selecting noncontiguously in a folder

2012-03-02 Thread Angie Giltinan
good morning all, I may have asked this in the past, if so, forgive me?
Anyway, how does one select noncontiguous items in a folder,
 my example is this.
I want to copy several items in a folder, but not all items, and the ones I
want are not adjacent to each other.
Thanks for any help!
I really value all the people on this list, I learn so much!
Thanks again,
Kind Regards
ANgie

Thanks, that helps!
Now, is there a way to have VO announce the items that have been selected?
Thanks again!

How about we organize a little group call on Skype and get to hear each

I think I can plug us on a little conferencing tool to extend the Skype

want to use a regular phone line.

Let me know. If you are interested, I will set up an online Doodle

safari and tables in other apps

2012-07-09 Thread Angie Giltinan
All, sorry about the confusing subject,
here's my question.
1. I am in Safari, then, I switch back to Syrinx or mail, or anything else that
has tables.

2. I attemppt to use up arrow to move up a row in the table with quick nav on,
I can't do it.
3. if I use the left arrow to move, I can do it just fine.
I have to ture VO offf first before I can use standard table nav with quick nav
on.
Does anyone have any suggestions, is this happening to you>?
Thanks.

Thanks, that helped allot!
I thought you just selected the content from the table, and it appeared!
I couldn't find much documentation on actually reading the bible, or using one
of the commentaries.
I think this app might work out after all!

Thank, that worked out great.
I am wondering, is it important to click on the track pad right rare the item
is, I suspect it is, but am not sure. and, why couldn't we do a vo mouse click?
I tried that, and it didn't work.
I'm really loving pianopub.
I labled all the controls, so it's working great!

OCR on the mac

2012-01-26 Thread Angie Giltinan
Hi all,
I want to find a good scanning solution for my mac.
I will purchase a flat bed scanner, but not sure which one you all recommend,
and what software you think would be best.
I thought of using DocuScan but the need to have an internet connection all
the time is a bit off putting for me.
Thoughts and suggestions are appreciated!

River Bible

2012-01-27 Thread Angie Giltinan
Hi all,
In my quest to find a good bible app that I felt comfortable with, I have
found River Bible.
It has a simple interface, that allows you to search, read a selected book, or
write journal entries.
I'm still playing with it and learning, but it seems nice.
I got it from the app store.

Re: River Bible

2012-01-28 Thread Angie Giltinan
Hi, If you go to the app store, search for river, it wil be the second or third
choice.
I would tell you how much it cost, but when I went to look to see, of course
it wouldn't tell me, as I'd already bought it.
It might have been free, but a quick peek in the app store will soon answer
your question.
I'm still getting used to it, but it is pretty good,
The only thing I don't like about it is that you can only use a few
translations.
I wish I could even buy more or something.
Enjoy!

basic recording and sound editing app

2012-02-09 Thread Angie Giltinan
Hi all, So, there's been lots of great talk aon this list about recording and
editing sound apps, which leads me to this one simple question.
What is the best, simplest app for recording and editing sound.
I want it to be simple to use.
I'm not an audiofile or anything like that, for example, I used wavepad on the
windows side, and even the built in sound recorder to edit sound, so you see, I
don't need allot of fancy features, just the ability to cut parts of sounds
out, layer a few tracks. just the basics.
Thanks for your help in advance

adding books to my nls cartrige on the mac

2012-02-17 Thread Angie Giltinan
hi all,
I have struggled with this question since i got my mac, over a half a year ago.
when I put books on my nls cartrige mac installs a bunch of random junk on the
cartrige. so my question is this, what's the best method you use for coppying
content to your nls cartrige, or stream, or other book player.
I've found that when you delete a book, it adds stuff, to your media,
I'm kind of frustrated at this point, but there's got to be a way!
Thanks in advance!

you can with JAWS. I've read the help topic on this like 4 times, and

2011-07-19 Thread Angie Giltinan
Ok, I got it to work, now here's another question, is there a way to
read web pages line by line, like with JAWS in windows? sorry to keep
compairing things, it's just the only way I know to explain what I
want.
Thanks loads!

Music player

2011-07-30 Thread Angie Giltinan
Good evening all!
I'm a new mac user, fresh from the windows world, so when I learned that iTunes
was the default music player on the mac, I sort of panicked since, well, umm,
iTunes really sucks in windows!
So, here's my question, what do you all use to play mp3's and ogg files?
do you just stick with iTunes, which admitedly, is much better, and nicer on
the mac, or is there a third party software you all like for playing your music?
Thanks in advance for any and all feedback!
Angie and Guide dog Essence, and lazy cat Caleb! the king of this particular

Thanks for your suggestions, a few questions, if you don't mind?
are vlc and cog accessible, and when do you use which
as for the switch from windows to mac, I'm really loving it! Alex as a voice is
wonderful, and the fact that Vo comes preloaded on every mac is incredible!

as for iTunes accessibility being not so good on the mac, let me just say,
from my point of view, it's much better on the mac compared to windows.

iBooks Author

Hi all, Have any of you used iBooks author to put a book on the app store?
I'm thinking about trying it, but would love a few pointers, or to know if it's
even accessible.
Thanks

I press vo space on the file, and it starts playing, I don't want this

accessible apps from the mac app store

2011-10-23 Thread Angie Giltinan
Good morning all,
As a fairly new Mac user, I'm very interested in obtaining new apps, to expand
the possibilities of my Mac, also, I'm an iOs app junky, so I'd like to cary
that obsession over to the mac.
All that said, I'm leary of plunging right in without a resource of apps that
are and aren't accessible.
I'd like to hear from those of you using different apps,
For example, what RSS reader are people using, what podcast app, are there any
accesible games?
I downloaded the RS Games server thingy last night, and Zoom for mac osX, for
text adventures, but what else is there?
We really need an Apple Vis for mac!
So, please, let's see all the suggestions you experienced mac users have!
Thanks
Angie
