Reducing or eliminating ad interruptions on iOS safari

2023-09-26 Thread Phil Halton
Add interruptions on safari using iOS are making Safari almost unusable when
searching through a Google search. When I load a page I’m constantly
interrupted with ad loading. I’ve tried turning off pop-up blocking in Safari
settings and I have tried using the reader in page settings both are suggested
by Apple, but neither seem to block the stupid ads. What can I do Aside from
throwing the iPhone at the wall? Any help appreciate it

Facebook Messenger on iPhone

2023-09-26 Thread pdevasto0219
Hello all,

On my iPhone 3rd gen SE running iOS 16.6.1, whenever I go into Facebook
messenger and try to send a message, VO is going back several screens and
speaks their content entirely, rather than just what I sent, or the replies
I receive. Also, on my Braille display, messages are displayed with the
first and last cell containing all 8 dots. I've noticed this for a while
now, and I'm wondering if possibly there might be something funny going on
with iOS 16.6, or maybe 16.5? A key to the answer may have to do with the
fact that I can't remember what the presence of these 8-dot cells at each
end of the display means when VO is speaking. Also, I don't have this issue
when running messenger on an older iPhone running the latest iOS 15 version.
If anyone else uses FB Messenger, have you noticed this behavior, and if so
is there a workaround? I so appreciate any thoughts or suggestions.

Thanks,

Pete De Vasto

Re: Facebook Messenger on iPhone

2023-09-26 Thread Minh Ha
It's the Messenger app and the latest update. I was having this issue on iOS 16.6 starting a few weeks ago, and it's still happening with iOS 17. FB will periodically break Messenger in their updates. The only advice I can give is to contact FB Accessibility. They might or might not do anything about it. Minh HaSent from my iPhoneOn Sep 26, 2023, at 12:39 PM, pdevasto0...@gmail.com wrote:Hello all, On my iPhone 3rd gen SE running iOS 16.6.1, whenever I go into Facebook messenger and try to send a message, VO is going back several screens and speaks their content entirely, rather than just what I sent, or the replies I receive. Gmail on my Mac

2023-09-26 Thread agent086b
Hi all,
I have a need to switch list mail to Gmail on my Mac.
I have created the account by selecting Google from the options given. Gone
through the 2 step verification all appears to be correct.
I would like the incoming messages to to the existing folders on the Mac.
I notice Google have created there own folders inbox trash etc.
I have sent some messages to the Google account but I don’t appear to be
receiving them.
Anybody have steps to set up this properly?
Thanks for any help.
Max.
