Can I use WhatsApp in the Mac?

2021-12-03 Thread Rena
Hello,

I heard it's possible to use WhatsApp in the Mac. Would anyone please
explain how? Where do I find it to install it?

Thank you,

Rena

Can't save changes to existing text edit document.

2021-12-03 Thread Jessica Moss
I’ve just updated an existing text edit document I’ve had on my USB drive for
years, and had no problem saving changes to it in the past, and now all of a
sudden am getting a strange message that I don’t have permission to make
changes to the file. I’ve gone into “get info” in finder, and under the
sharing and permissions section, all it displays is “you can read and write”
then the rest of the text is cut off and I can’t scroll any further.
Has anyone else had this issue?

Re: Can I use WhatsApp in the Mac?

2021-12-03 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

There should be a What’s App app in the Mac App Store. You’ll need to “Get”
it, then open it and add your What’s App credentials and you’ll be all set.

Check to see if this problem is only the one document, or the entire USB stick.
If the entire usb drive is protected, you have unknowingly hit the switch to
enable protection.

2021-12-03 Thread 'Matthew Dierckens' via MacVisionaries
Hi,there is a version of what's app for Mac. I am finding it a tad bit
sluggish, but I can listen to voice messages and can send voice and text
messages. You will need to scan a QR code on your phone to the computer, but it
is accessible.
The multi-device support is still currently in beta.

Re: Can't save changes to existing text edit document.

2021-12-03 Thread Jessica Moss
I just checked, and found it to be doing this on multiple documents. I’m
really confused as to how this could’ve happened, because I have no idea how to
make changes to this, so I know for a fact that I haven’t touched any of the
settings, and under the sharing and permissions section under the drive itself,
I’m finding nothing useful in order to find out what got toggled on/off.

Re: Can't save changes to existing text edit document.

2021-12-03 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

Flash drives are notoriously unreliable. I suggest that you copy the files
from that drive to your Mac. You can then likely make the changes you want to
make. If you wish to keep using that flash drive, then after copying them to
your Mac, go into Disk Utility, select the flash drive, and erase it using the
MacOS Extended (Journaled) scheme. You can then copy the files back over and,
as long as the drive is not damaged in any way, you should be good for now.

RE: Can I use WhatsApp in the Mac?

2021-12-03 Thread Frank Ventura
There is a Mac version of WHats App. After downloading and installing you need
to scan a QR code on the Mac’s screen with your phone. Move the phone around
the screen slowly until it sees the QR coee.

Hi,

There should be a What’s App app in the Mac App Store. You’ll need to “Get”

Hi,

Could it be a problem with the drive itself? What happens if you copy one of
the files in question to the harddrive or another USB drive and try editing it
from there?

Re: Radio Astronomy on the iPhone

2021-12-03 Thread Yuma Decaux
Hi Michael,

AstreOS is my passion project, and I am still working on it, though for the
past year and a half it's been slow due to my finishing my degree in computer
science and working on research for a mac version of the astronomy app, doing
lots of presentations and workshops etc.

You can head to https://astreos.space to get the link to the test flight. It
works fine, and we're developing some backend code for a citizen scientist
feature which I am also putting into the mac OS version.

The mac OS version is a bit more scientific, less astro gazer and more radio
astronomy on top of the visual standards used by astronomers globally. It has
been featured at a workshop on audible universes recently, and I currently
supervise a student to finish off the 3D audio system that will work on
surround sound.

Since I have just graduated, I will have more time to focus on the official
release of both apps, so I'm looking forward to post some updates soon :)

Have a great weekend,

Yuma
