Re: What audio editing apps work well on the Mac with Voiceover

2021-08-12 Thread Jürgen Fleger
Hello,

how interesting. Sound Forge was always my favorit sound editor until Magix
stopped its development. Is it really back? Just found a download page from
Magix. But I haven’t heard or its come back. Would be great. Do you have
experiences using it?

All the best
Jürgen

 Hi!
There is Amadeus Pro but its not very easy to use but works very well.
Jonathan Mosen has made a daisy book on how to use the Amadeus Pro.
There is also twisted wave which also is available for iOS.
I was going to learn it but there has been so much things in the way.

Hi all, can anyone recommend an easy to use audio editing program for
the Mac that works well with voice over? Also any tutorials would also
 be appreciated. Thanks

Voice Over typing feedback in Safari based survey

2021-08-12 Thread Ian Harrison
Hi all,
recently I tried to complete an online survey, about accessibility would you
believe, and came across a problem when trying to respond a text entry box. I
got the usual text edit prompt but it was followed by something like ‘object
replacement’. When I attempt to type there is no longer any letter or word
feedback and I have no idea if it is accepting my typing.

I tried various ways of interacting further and tried it with quicknave both on
or off.

Is this a bug or is there a workaround?

Thanks as always
Ian

Hi,

Thanks Greg. This is an awesome find. Excellent that it can be done without
sighted assistance. Thanks again.

 Hello.

Just to say that I had this problem a few weeks ago. As I have no vision,
I used my mac to restore my I phone and then had to get a recent update on
it and then make sure that my phone had gone to factory defaults and then
get the phone to restore itself from a recent back up. I hate that voice
 recognition.

 Hi Greg,

Thanks. I ended up calling Apple Accessibility. They couldn’t figure it
out either, so I ended up resetting all my settings. Kind of a pain, but
it took care of the problem.

Just for grins, I did what you suggested, just to see what I could see.
There was nothing pertaining to Recognition in the rotor, the closest
thing I saw was Direct Touch. I suppose it’s possible that somehow that
got set to On, but I sure can’t imagine how.
 Cheers,
 Donna

 Hello,
Move to the app switcher and make sure focus is on settings. Once focus is

 Hi Tim,

So when I go into Settings, if VO is on, focus is locked on the Status
bar. Neither my husband nor I can scroll down. The minute I three-finger
swipe, it opens the control center. I finally got into the VO screen by
turning Voiceover off, having my husband scroll down, turn VO back on.
But he said it shows white instead of green, and when He taps Recognition,
 nothing happens. Any thoughts?
 Thanks,
 Donna

 Hi,

Maybe check if Screen Recognition has been enabled for the Settings app.
Your husband may need to do this due to the current inaccessibility of the
Settings. It would be found in Settings, Accessibility, VoiceOver,
VoiceOver Recognition. Usually this can be accomplished using the rotor,
but if the screen recognition won’t let you work within the Settings app,
you kind of end up in a useless loop.
