Re: boot options at start up not working

2021-08-11 Thread 'Tim Kilburn' via MacVisionaries
Hi,

Yes, holding the option key on boot should bring up the Boot Picker, although
it is not accessible with VoiceOver. This process has also changed for the M1
Macs, although if you’re using BootCamp, then you are not on an M1. Sometimes,
the timing of holding down the option key is tricky. Try shutting down the
Mac, waiting for about 10 seconds, then press the power button, then pressing
the option key right away, even before the Startup chime sounds. Make sure to
hold it through the Startup Chime and for at least five seconds after the chime
has finished.

Later…

Re: What audio editing apps work well on the Mac with Voiceover

2021-08-11 Thread Cara Quinn
Just to add a bit to this thread and clear up a possible misunderstanding.

I haven’t seen anyone mention Sound forge (now owned by Magix), Sound Studio or
Wave Pad.

It’s been a while since I’ve used these but they might be of help.

One tip for Sound Studio, at least used to be to turn off cursor tracking,
which made the app work quite well with VO.

Also, since Sound Forge Pro is now about $300 US, Logic Pro may be a better
option if you would like a complete professional solution with less cost.

Secondly, on the subject of Logic, having used both ProTools and Logic, I’m
wondering what issues people are finding with the accessibility of Logic?

I use it on a daily basis for audio editing and production work and can vouch
for an extraordinarily high level of accessibility with VO.

So hope this helps.

Have a great day!

Cheers!

Cara

 Hi Guys,
The short answer is Avid Pro Tools.
I’ve been editing audio with it for many years now and its straight

Our Avid beta teem is constantly working to keep accessibility in the

Hi!
I don’t get the hang of logic band I also don’t get how to come to the effects.
But I saw that there were some tutorials on Logic Pro with VOiceOver on
YouTube.
So I might have look at them.

Did you disable the opsion to boot from external disks? You need to go into
the recovery and enable this to get this to work.
